There's one bit of streamlining you could have done early on: If you have Oatchi subject to an elemental hazard, he'll be allowed access to gear and training that protects him from those hazards much earlier. Basically all of the waiting on the electric fences would have been bypassed if you just settled on giving Oatchi some shock therapy.
Literally the first day's task should be to round up the elemental hazards and tell Oatchi to rush in muzzle first. Finally, a game where animal cruelty is the meta play. I've also completed an 8 pikmin run, it was pretty fun! Definitely recommend it to people interested in replaying the game with a twist.
This is the best strategy in Pikmin 4, as the first time Oatchi takes damage from any element, you will unlock the nullifier for it, which is really useful (heck even Water is nullified once Oatchi learns to swim)
@@LoyaLPikmin Well, if you watch the video I'm sure you'll discover how. I stopped at defeating Louie, rather than grind the 100 purple necessary for the gold bar.

I find this far more interesting than the minimum pikmin runs in 1 2 and 3. In those ones the minimum number was dictated only by the bag or wall that needed the most pikmin, making everything before it pointless. Because of oatchi, the challenge becomes much more creative and fun.
Fun fact! It's actually not necessary to get the ice pikmin in Last-Frost Cavern. It's possible to move the paint-tube treasure near the snowy blowhog and then have Oatchi repeatedly ram into the paint tube in order to very gradually move the snowy blowhog, and you can then use its icy breath to freeze the hydro jellies for you instead. It's extremely tedious and takes about 30 minutes just to execute, but it's an option! Edit: You can also get to the remaining treasures in Dream Home without Oatchi; if you toss down a bomb rock the explosion can knock your captain onto the mushrooms to bounce you across. But still a really well done run and video! Great job!
Another way more easy is just skip that cave and move on to the fire cave to rescue the castway (obligatory the first castaway that you rescue is russel don't matter where) and then buy ice bomb rocks to freeze the hydro jellies

Not sure if it helps, but you CAN lower that handle in Dream Den with enough Glow Pikmin, that and the one in SST. Using Glow Mob at just the right angle can latch 1-3 onto the handle, but you'll probably need more than 20 to have that work. That's how I was able to skip Yellow/Winged Pikmin in my "Least Pikmin Types run" (spoiler: you only need Reds, Purples, and Glow to get everything in the game).

I once did a challenge run where I could only use 1 of each Pikmin type... Yes, that means that (aside from Oatchi) I could only have three Pikmin out at once, except for a few very specific times in caves. The only thing that really stopped me was a single clipboard bridge in the final cave that require 20 pikmin to pull down, I had to cheat using glow pikmin in order to progress (I couldn't get 100% though). Also, just a tip, you can technically skip getting ice pikmin if you use ice bombs (which you unlock later on) for most of the ice-related puzzles. I attempted to get all possible treasures and castaways with just 7 pikmin and P2. You can skip past wild pikmin by rushing with Oatchi, wild pikmin don't interact with the captain or Oatchi if you rush from far enough back and stop once you get far enough away. Within Crackling Cauldron you can just barely get any pikmin type, except purples, onto the bricks to get both the castaway and two treasures without P2. Since you can get to this cave on day 2 you can get Russ from this cave since all castaways are in a set order (except Leaflings). You can get the track piece in ultimate testing range using Oatchi's swallow ability to get the track onto the edge of the platform and push it so Oatchi can reach it from the other side, where he grabs it and falls with it in his mouth, the game puts Oatchi back on his last known point on land with the treasure still in his mouth. Glow pikmin can theoretically (I haven't done it with the minimum number) reach the yellow board handle which can allow you to get it. I have videos which can allow you to get the music box in BA and get Oatchi across the gap in Dream Home. I've seen a video where Oachi is able to get additional height from a bomb rock launching him while he is on top of an onion. 2 things you 1st i am 75% sure that ice pikmin is not needed as you can get russ from one of the caves by throwing red pikmin in such a way that they grab him its a hard throw but it works then 2 one of the dandori challanges at 1:02:00 can most likely be done with the louie quest item since that allows you too grab more gold nuggets so yeah do what you will with this info edit: did not watch full vid so umm ignor 2
A Bunch of treasure he got he coulda saved some time on, like the Middle Management Tankcar you can just run to the other side and if you aim your pikmin right, throw them up on the ledge and they will go and get it, thats how I got it in my No Oatchi run
PNF-404 is not really the planet's name. It's a reference to the HTML code 404, which is page not found. In Pikmin's case, it's planet not found, as in the planet is not (yet) in any of the databases.
10 Red Pikmin that you start with, 5 Pikmin of any type to get an automatic gear that Moss can't reach, and 5 Yellow Pikmin in Hero's Hideaway that you can't explode with Bomb Rocks and Trackonators, only with the Pebble Pitcher.
So when you say "day 5" or "day 18", is that the actual day # or are you merely using it as a story-telling device? Because if you actually did it that fast, I feel bad cause it took me way longer than you even with *an order of magnitude* more Pikmin 😂
Quick question… was it actually required to get that first ice Pikmin? Do you need to “clear” that cave to advance? I don’t remember now… because otherwise, you can continue to advance with your 7 Reds until you get to the cave with the ice flower and convert some then and go back to that cave to break the jelly afterwards. Is there a reason you have to clear that cave before progressing?

If you abuse the coop feature you can get freeze bombs which means you don’t need ice pikmin and can get past most obstacles
uhh .... he does know olimar's story can lead ya to the purple and white onions right?
"A full ass adult dog." LOL
I know barely anything about Pikmin, but if the answer is anything but 4 pikmin, I will be so mad.
90 pikmin is required to 100% the primordial thicket
Edit: I believe there is a bridge that allows oatchi to get up there
2 things you 1st i am 75% sure that ice pikmin is not needed as you can get russ from one of the caves by throwing red pikmin in such a way that they grab him its a hard throw but it works then 2 one of the dandori challanges at 1:02:00 can most likely be done with the louie quest item since that allows you too grab more gold nuggets so yeah do what you will with this info
edit: did not watch full vid so umm ignor 2
A Bunch of treasure he got he coulda saved some time on, like the Middle Management Tankcar you can just run to the other side and if you aim your pikmin right, throw them up on the ledge and they will go and get it, thats how I got it in my No Oatchi run
I've found a cheat to this: complete the 1500 hurdle of this challenge in the FREE demo for 5 free bomb rocks.
Olimar should get his license revoked
Not even a minute in And there is two lore inaccuracys
Yeah, Oatchi makes it so that you hardly need Pikmin most of the time.
Also, instead of John Tomato, why not Tom Ato?
You can get rid of hydro jellies with ice bombs, so does that change anything with the ice pikmin?
Personally pikmin 2 is still my favorite, but i do like 4 semi reviving a few PK2 aspects
PNF-404 is not really the planet's name. It's a reference to the HTML code 404, which is page not found. In Pikmin's case, it's planet not found, as in the planet is not (yet) in any of the databases.
How many Pikmin would you need to complete Olimar's story? It's been a while and i only just found your channel
The pebble pitcher feels fine it's just a shortcut to getting items which could be bought from russ after farming for infinite days.
It also kills enemies with no risk to your squad.
So when you say "day 5" or "day 18", is that the actual day # or are you merely using it as a story-telling device? Because if you actually did it that fast, I feel bad cause it took me way longer than you even with *an order of magnitude* more Pikmin 😂
The in-game days.
All gates take minimim damage from 2nd player with time all of them fall even glass
You don’t need that ice pikmin but you do need a castaway to get items, the ability to build, and big oatchi.
You have 8 glow seeds so you technically beat pikmin 4 with 16 pikmin
1:59 it's just hard, but entirely possible to kill pikmin
i want to see the ten trials and olimar's tale with minium pikmin.
17:49 Biff is that you?
