    Try out this Jagannath 56 Chappan Bhoga recipe for this rathyatra, known as Shola Dali Chenna Tarkari. This is a coconut based traditional sabzi with golden crispy chenna koftas in the natively flavoured dali. This sabzi is served to Lord Jagannath in Madhyanna Dhupa as one of the 56 bhoga offerings.
    Servings: 5
    Ingredients:
    For Shola Dali:
    1 cup chana dal
    2 cups water
    ½ tsp salt
    For Chenna Kofta:
    200 grams paneer/ chenna
    ¼th tsp salt
    3 tbsp maida/all purpose flour
    Ghee for frying
    For the spice mix:
    2½ tsp coriander seeds
    2 tsp cumin seeds
    10 to 12 blackpepper cons
    2 cinnamon sticks
    For tarkari:
    2 tbsp ghee
    5 foran (1 tsp cumin seeds, 1 tsp fennel seeds, 1 tsp mustard seeds, 1 tsp kalonji seeds, ½ tsp fenugreek seeds)
    ½ tsp turmeric powder
    2 bay leaves
    Salt to taste
    1 cup water
    ½ cup fresh grated coconut
    Fresh coriander leaves for garnishing
