Hahahha. I was a bit worried too my dogs would sing along with me. It's oast 12mn when I tried to do this. Hahaha. It's very quiet now in the neighborhood. Creepy! 😁😁😁
I love your fur baby. I sing all the time and have three fur baby rescues and they turn around and stare at the wall when I sing. A message? 🤷🏿♀️ I like how I sing. 🙄 🙆🏿
4:02 (Go up using Ooh’s) 6:52 (Go up using chesty mix voice) 8:18 (Go back down and use head voice) 9:22 (Change back to ooh’s with strong support) 11:01
Great video! Weirdly the best vocal warmups I've had weren't meant to be vocal warmups. Every time I do very intense physical exercise to the point where I'm sweating profusely and out of breath, once I get my breath back my voice is at its peak of ability and comfort. It's the craziest thing when i was doing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and had a hard sparring day that just wiped me out but my voice was on point and i was...pleasantly surprised lol.
This warmup is amazing! I agree with the comments about how weird it sounds to others, but when I went to sing my pieces, the high notes seemed effortless! Although, I have to take a break- it feels like I've just done a bunch of crunches!
I just stumble to this, I work inside the mall, was closed already and I played this, the guard thought there is a ghost in the hall way...But I love this warm up.😍😍😍
Thank you! You are amazing! I sing in church (2 sunday morning services). I've included this in my morning routines exercises and it's made such a huge improvement in my voice!!! Blessings!
Madeleine, your simple, yet complex techniques just keep getting better! I have taught young children to sing for over 25 years and now will venture onto middle schooler's and adults and I can't WAIT to try so many things I have learned from your videos! Thank you, thank you, thank you. Old dog, new tricks but not impossibly difficult new tricks. Everything I never thought of that I thought I already knew. You are making it real for me. Does that make sense?
What. The. Hell. I did this one and went on Smule afterwards and I’ve never sounded so good without effort?????? THANK YOU so much for this exercise I will use this one for warm up from now on 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 I recommend everyone trying this one!
I’ve been using this warm up for the longest time now and I absolutely help me. I’m in the church choir and your warm ups have help me so much and my voice has improved. Thank you so much.
Best one I have seen so far! I used to do something very similar in high school, but this is slower and really gets you thru all the range and breaks. Very good.
Thanks so much for the helpful explanation of the theory, I have had my voice "grab" before so I need this (2:45). I'm going to practice the jump and slide a lot, so I'll mark it here 4:00. And I'll keep my diaphragm invested!
Great warmup. I have been learning off you for several years now, brought your lesson package too. You are by far my favourite of any online vocal tutors. I have come such a long way but one issue I am still having is a vocal break when moving from mixed register into chest voice, so on the deeper ends of both sides of this exercise. I have been working a lot on your howling cats exercise for this too, rolling the sound back in my mouth seems to be starting to work but how not sure how to do that on this exercise!
Fantastic warmup! Everything that I sing has me constantly switching from chest to head voice. This is great for those days when I feel like that ‘break’ point is not where it needs to be before I sing. I loved this. It felt like a massage for my voice. Thank you!!
I have been using your videos for my vocal warm up. Every now and then I find a new one and adds it to my exercise. Your methods are always interesting and very resourceful. Thank you very much.
Thank you, Mrs. Madeleine Harvey, for posting this video. I did it today for the first time and then followed it with my normal vocal warm-up routine. I was so excited to see how easy it was for me to do my other normal vocal warm-ups following this one! I felt that it really did engage my diaphragm so well that I find it easy to mentally and physically reach for my vocal support after having done it. Because of this, I had minimal, if any, tension in my throat and felt no pain while I sang. Singing both very high head notes and low chest ones came so "naturally" after doing this warm-up. Excellent! I highly recommend this video for any singers out there. I look forward to returning to this video in my future warm-up's.
I love your video!! thank youuuu. and also love your art direction, cozy room with the all light decor, beautiful outfit and styling for a gorgeous singing teacher ◡̈ will follow more of your videos! hehehe wish you a lovely day
🗣 invested! whenever i play this video -- which is a lot because i LOVE this exercise! 😮🎶 -- at 10:52 when "investigated" is said, then an attempt to find the intended word is bumped by "committed" i keep meaning to post "invested" just so anyone (probably no one) losing sleep over the never found intended word can have closure 😑 (sleep is also important for a healthy functioning voice 🛌😉) fleeting thesaurus moments aside, THANK YOU for this and other useful, spot-on, awesome videos! 🙏🏻 may you sleep well in the knowledge of having generously helped and supported so many! 💞
I've been looking all over for you. I saw your video on Facebook and wanted to share... I am a classically trained vocalist who has always had a terrible breaking point and couldn't sing pop. Your videos are so helpful! Thank you
Thank you! The first thing I want to do in the morning is sing, but it sounds awful if I don't warn up first. Thanks for sharing a warm-up that's so enjoyable and helpful!!!! I love your channel!!!!
Thank you so much for your videos!! I just got back into singing and playing music and love how fun these exercises are! I've subscribed and am so excited to see what all you post next.
This has been helpful for me numerous times. Thank you, Madeline Harvey. You’re not only adorable, you’re brilliant in how you touch on the heart as well as the voice. Thank you.
I did this warmup a lot when it first came out a few months ago, but in recent weeks, i was trying a couple different ones. I did this one again for the first time in a while, and my orange cat, who had been happily lounging in his kitty condo, just rolled his head in my direction and looked at me like, "oh no, not this nonsense again!"
Not a singer really, but an actor. I'm honestly so excited to add this to my prep for going on set or doing VO work. Just tried this video... & my back door happens to be open. So, now my neighbors dog is having a complete fit. He must think something is dying. lol!
I just started voice and have difficulty doing scales. This is the first practice that I am able to do without getting totally frustrated and bored. I did not realize that I am a soprano. Thank you.❤
I use this as my go to Walmart. Madeline, thank you so much I think you’re awesome. My dad has 39 grandkids… 30 of them are girls six sisters, one brother married to the same woman 39 years even though I still look like I’m 22👀😃💪🏼 Have twin granddaughters… I know ladies you… Our precious. I know you’re sweet and all that but I also know you have a tough side and you’re feisty. But you’ve got a beautiful balance and I really do appreciate it all you’ve done to help me bring out the best in my voice so, thank you so much
omg...i was looking for a word literally and you said another word is....lol then your hands were like showing me somethning plus you used the word investigated .....and i needed to har that....mamma mia..... thanks for this wonderful creation.
Oh this was righteous! I'm having trouble with my low notes and someone suggested a little extra warm up and the slide really worked well. I'm off to choir rehearsal and will see how it goes!
3:57, for every day purposes :3
You're the chosen one.
Thanks!
4:23
Thank you
You’re a saint and a scholar
I just realized my dogs have been training to be opera singers all these years.
😂😂😂😂😂👍👍👍👍👍
So funny 🤣
Lmao
🤣
Thats how i feel like. Haha. With her awesome sweet voice. I try my best not to sound like a dog howling with her.
My sweet Rottweiler was definitely turned on by this warmup and sang with me for much of it.
My little Miniature Pinscher is running around in search of a wolf. She's gonna have to get used to these warm ups :)
Oh my gosh! So cute!
Hahahha. I was a bit worried too my dogs would sing along with me. It's oast 12mn when I tried to do this. Hahaha. It's very quiet now in the neighborhood. Creepy! 😁😁😁
😆😆
I love your fur baby.
I sing all the time
and have three fur baby rescues
and they turn around and stare at the wall when I sing. A message? 🤷🏿♀️
I like how I sing. 🙄
🙆🏿
My parents walked in concerned and asked what in the world I'm doing, and why am I making wolf noises
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Same hahahaha
4:02 (Go up using Ooh’s)
6:52 (Go up using chesty mix voice)
8:18 (Go back down and use head voice)

Likely because you have got your diaphragm engaged. That’s a big part of a vocal warmup.
Makes a lot of sense, actually.
I find this after tennis
Is that Kenshin in your profile?
Same
This warmup is amazing! I agree with the comments about how weird it sounds to others, but when I went to sing my pieces, the high notes seemed effortless! Although, I have to take a break- it feels like I've just done a bunch of crunches!
I have done vocal warmups before, and the intensity of my voice is amazing! Mind-Blowing!
I just stumble to this, I work inside the mall, was closed already and I played this, the guard thought there is a ghost in the hall way...But I love this warm up.😍😍😍
😂😅
Funny. Lol 😂
😂😂
This brought my speaking voice so much resonance in my nose area 😅😂 this was nice ! Will definitely remember it in my vocal warm up.
Me too!
I swear your videos aren't only the best because they're incredibly easy to understand, but the energy you give is also fantastic. Love all of 'em!
Yes!
So...my dog thinks I'm very upset and have been howling for 10 minutes and keps bringing me her toys to cheer me up
Aw the little baby
I'm smiling throughout this session
Great warm up exercise thank you! It is the only one my dog will do with me ;) She loves to howl along
Thank you! You are amazing! I sing in church (2 sunday morning services). I've included this in my morning routines exercises and it's made such a huge improvement in my voice!!! Blessings!
My dogs stared at me the entire time I did this exercise. 🤣 I feel much more warmed up now!
my voice feels great just by watching her
Madeleine, your simple, yet complex techniques just keep getting better! Aww that was so sweet to read, I hope you still learn a lot of new things 💕
How much are beginner vocal lessons?
This is seriously the best warm up I’ve ever done! Feeling ready to sing!!
Awesome! This one is fun too. :) It feels like a spooky ghost.
What. The. Hell. I did this one and went on Smule afterwards and I’ve never sounded so good without effort?????? THANK YOU so much for this exercise I will use this one for warm up from now on 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 I recommend everyone trying this one!
Thank you I'll practice this in my car because my cat legit attacked me hearing this
Damn 😂
😄
Same here practicing in my car 😂😂
🤣
Omg my cat got a wild look in its eyes and stood up on two legs like I was summoning it or something 😂😂
I honestly love this exercise I have been doing it for a while. And it has helped me a lot. Little by little it gets better
I’ve been using this warm up for the longest time now and I absolutely help me. I’m in the church choir and your warm ups have help me so much and my voice has improved. Thank you so much.
It's cute... Like an ambulance, fire siren or scary sound... But effective
I realized I most likely need an empty house to do this ;-;
Yeah, they might be inclined to call 911.
😂😄😅
It does tend to make you a bit mindful of your surroundings and how many people can possibly hear you...hahah...I like it tho!
Haha I'm in my back room garage hang out space
I find it helps to warn people in the house beforehand that you're gonna be making silly noises
Best one I have seen so far! I used to do something very similar in high school, but this is slower and really gets you thru all the range and breaks. Very good.
thank you for this resource
now i really in love with this youtube channell
Wow, I really felt light-headed with this exercise, but I feel it's a good way to warm up the voice. Thanks for sharing!
This one warmup is the best by far. I love it for every day. 🎶
So useful!! I've been loving your warm up videos, I use them before I do my online choir assignments :)
I have a competition coming up
And this warmup is really the ishh
👏🔥🔥
I really felt it coming up
I finished the whole video
Thanks so much for the helpful explanation of the theory, I have had my voice "grab" before so I need this (2:45).
I'm going to practice the jump and slide a lot, so I'll mark it here 4:00.

This activated my chest voice in mere minutes. I’ve never had that happen before. Amazing.
This actually worked so well. Huge difference before and after practicing a song.

Investigated= invested I think is the word you were looking for. Great video! Thanks!
Great warm up. Thanks. Not used to warming up first. But that feels really good.
