You're amazing, I've tried for months to develop vibrato, and after 1 night of doing these exercises, I could hear a vibrato starting in my voice! Thank you so much!

Whenever she said well done, I smiled so big and I just felt overwhelming happiness. Like I can actually hear and feel a difference and she just gives me so much pride. 🖤
This video helped me understand that I'm NOT ALONE in my vocal experience. I've been singing classically for about 15 years but have never naturally developed vibrato. It's always been an insecurity but with this video, and the comments of this video, I've realized I'm not alone. Thank you SO MUCH for helping me learn techniques to improve that part of my voice.
Omg I'm flipping out right now because I'm doing this exercise for the second time AND IT WORKS! Finally there is vibrato in my voice! Thank you so much!
No one: Me: ee EE ee EE eeWEEWEEWEEWEEWEE!! ha ha HA ha ha Ha ha ha HaHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHA!!! Yi yi yi yi yi yi HIHIHIHIHIHI!! I CAN'T DO ANYTHING SERIOUSLY WITHOUT LAUGHING🤦🏻♀️ 😂😂😂
As voice teacher myself, I often field questions and concerns about vibrato. While I agree that different techniques work for different singers, I think that these exercises are a great way to get started! I am going to try them with a student tonight!
Wow ok, this actually helps a lot. I wouldn't even say I'm close to a good singer and after about about a minute I hear vibrato in my voice. It just keeps getting slightly better. Best tutorial I have ever seen for this.
I’m developing it! I’ve just kept practicing and practicing for months on end, and it’s finally naturally coming. It’s very weak now BUT it’s 100% there!!! Still working on it and now that I actually have it I’m gonna develop it even more! I used to try so hard to get it, but now it just comes naturally.
Oh my God. This works so well for me! I've been doing these exercises for 4 days now and I already see good results!! Thank you so much!! Now I'm much more confident to take my university entrance exam 😄😊
It's really important to open yourself up and be okay with making mistakes in order to learn something. You really helped relax me to accept what I didn't want to.
This was very helpful! As a young singer studying opera, I wanted to develop my voice in a way that would improve my singing later. Vibrato was always very hard for me, but the way you taught helped me understand very easily and for that I say thank you! 😁
I’ve been trying to get my vibrato for forever, and it’s finally starting to come out. It’s not very frequent and sounds kinda weird right now but the more I work on it, the better it gets!! I love it! Thank you!
Your bouncing baby technique helped bring out my vibrato immediately! Thank you for sharing this video! I have had lots of vocal training growing up and none of it really brought it out so very happy to have found this video of techniques! You made it sound so simple!
I have never sang publicly but I have been asked to sing at and with my lil brother's wedding and I am sing your video's to practice... I am actually hearing a difference and from not being able to really sing the song in question (quavering, sort of "frayed" sounding voice - it is in a really low key/tone!!) I have, after doing the exercises in the other video about how to sing low, I can hit it, no problem... it just happened this evening and I am absolutely mindblown at the sound that's coming out of my face. Thanks a million, what you teach is saving my life and my nerves :D
You are my Queen... I didn't had a clue about singing high with my very base boyish voice.... And then you happened. I discovered a whole new level of my talents. Thank you so much for everything..
THANK YOU SO MUCH I'VE THOUGHT I COULD NEVER BE ABLE TO DO VIBRATO MY WHOLE LIFE, BUT I WAS ABLE TO DO IT JUST AFTER DOING THE EXERCISES ONCE! I'm honestly so happy I could cry
I'm SUPER excited because this is arguably the best online singing class Ive ever bought….If you're interested in singing like me, you've got to check this out now bit.ly/2BfP3EC
As an opera singer I found this video very interesting. Operatic vibrato, ie the natural vibrato is created when there is total freedom and openness from where the sound is created in the diaphragm, up through the throat, over the soft larynx and out of the mouth. What you are teaching of course is a very different technique. I would call it more of a contrived vibrato, but an effective technique.
Whoa.. You're amazing! I never thought that I could sing with vibrato, but after 3 days of training with you I see progress! (sorry for my English, I'm not a native speaker)
YuukaP you're English was perfect, no need to apologize for nothing on everyone of your comments, your grammar is better than some native speakers I know
You are the most comprehensive person I ever met. You teach me more in 5 mins than what I have been looking for in 20 years. True story is that I am a seriously disabled hearing person now, also shit old (53). I always loved music to the serious extent. Working in the music shops customize guitars so they get their "signature" sound (ppl were crazy get vintage pickups installed) but too busted ears to make it a real profession. Used Digital stuff from Yamaha just to stem them. (But I gave em e hell stemming Gibson bass with London horns). Anyway, I love singing. But it is not easy. Not clearly hear my own tone or NO vibrato. TODAY I discovered it. Thanks to YOU. Now just practice. Thank you! Tusen takk!
You classes are really helpful. Your techniques are so real and genuine. Thank you very much for your efforts. God bless you. Love from Nagaland, India. 💕♥️
"What is vibrato?" Madeleine: "It's a fancy way of saying an oscillation between two pitches simultaneously" 😂 That "fancy"-part of the sentence, sure got stuck in my throat for a second
I love how she does a little fast vibrato at the end of each beginner note, like HELLO we aren't there yet, that's what we are here to learn lady, you're landing past the finish line before we learned how to jump!
OMG i have never had a singing lesson in my life and i really wanted to do vibrato (my cousin's a stage actress) and i always ended up shaking my actual body, not just my voice. After watching this video i am now able to actually do vibrato. Thanks so much!
As beautiful as you are, that beautiful is the lesson. Thank you. It gives satisfaction in life when we see people so much involved in what they do, especially for others!
This is soooo great!!! I've always wanted to develop my natural vibrato...Thank you so much! In Just one practice I could hear the vibrato building up naturally!
You're amazing you helped me so much I dont even know how Express my gratitude. I was in show choir in high school and my teacher taught me to hide my vibrato and I couldn't find it again. Thank you so so much.
So when I started watching this I kinda started to tear up cause I’ve always wanted to develop a vibrato and I really understood what you were saying - I have been wanting to understand how it was made and you did that. Plus the exercises you did were awesome. The last one I could kinda hear it a little bit and that’s amazing!! I’m probably gonna watch this video a lot thank you so much!!☺️😁❤️
My mother was a singer when she was younger, so I grew up learning her vocal techniques by ear. You can do it, everyone! If you really can’t get it, try to listen to vibrato in songs very specifically (musical theater or opera works best) and just imagine the way you would create that noise using the techniques in the video. That’s what most of the girls in my choir do, anyway. You really do get much better with practice.
Amazing. I have a last minute audition tomorrow for Marius from Les Miserables. I have a great voice when recording folk/pop/rock music but have never had vibrato. I went through your exercises once about 20 minutes ago then sang through Empty Chairs while concentrating on relaxing my jaw and singing from my diaphragm and I now have vibrato. Added a bunch of bass and richness to my voice too. Sounds like an opera singer. Miracle. Thank you so much.
I am a music therapy student that has just recovered from a long term illness. Since then during voice lessons Ive had difficulty singing with vibrato. Thanks to your exercises I think I might have a chance to build one up. My breath support is not what it used to be before my illness but I pray this work. I have Jury’s in a couple of weeks.
Madeleine, you are so smart, talented and such a good instructor. Your explanations and teaching technique are very much appreciated thank you. Your my new singing coach 😊
Thank you so much! I have been trying to figure out how to do vibrato for weeks, tried a few different videos, but yours is the most useful and after a few times, I am starting to hear a little tiny vibrato! 🎉 I am so excited to keep practicing!
Wow thanks. I just learned that the vibrato I always sort of could do is the real way to do it. I thought I was doing it the 'fake' way, too forced you know. I thought a vibrato didn't involve diaphragm, but just pure technique from the vocal chords or something. Something that only professional singers could do. Haha, thanks.
Sometimes when I attempt to produce vibrato, I get worried that I'll accidentally create a fake vibrato for myself and prevent true vibrato. How do I fix this? Also how long does it normally take someone to develop vibrato? I've been singing for about half a year now with fortnightly lessons and I'm sure my breathing is right, but I'm not quite at vibrato yet. Please help?
I srsly- I am 14 and i have been singing all my life- never once have i done vibrato *properly*, usually I just force my voice into a smooth but shaky thing- it's hard to explain when it's not heard-
I recommend this video 110% !!! Im a singer and have been since I was little and have never been capable of doing a vibrato and i was told it was because my full range wasn’t there yet...but when i started musical theatre many girls my age could do them...I tried every day (incorrectly) and still couldn’t produce one even if i forced it! I came across this video a few weeks ago and did these exercises only once for about 15 minuets, i started singing and i could hear a vibrato, i practised for the rest of the day and literally the next morning I could do a perfect vibrato...I went from not being able to do one at all, to not being able to stop! thankyou so much for this video it helped alot! xxxx
Also whenever I try to sing higher pitch or lower pitch my voice cracks sooo much like idk what to do I can literally only sing in a middle tone or my throat goes YEet
Vibrato came to me kind of naturally. At some point it was just there. But I don't know if I'm doing it right because while I can hit it at most notes, certain notes I just can't get it right. Is that normal or can your video help me achieve it whenever I want?
DestinyHopeLou I've been trying but i just cant produce vibrato.Do you feel like a shake in your throat or something ?How does it feel while you're producing it?
It depends, not being able to use vibrato for certain notes can really be just about the strength your voice has. You may be able to sing the note out but if you don't have the strength to back it up your vibrato will fall flat. Try doing scales more, and exercises that help switch from low, mid, and high range to get the strength you need. Good luck!!
It isn't easy to sing vibrato at very high pitches but you also need to make sure you have proper support when singing high to be able to sing vibrato with those high pitches. Sometimes you might hear singers sing a very high and long note before dropping down a note or two to continue holding the phrase with vibrato. So if you can't sing vibrato with a note, try use more support or drop down a few notes and see if vibrato works there and then work on trying to use vibrato at higher pitches. And if you can't use vibrato at the low end of your range, that's pretty normal because even for me it's not that easy to use vibrato at a very low register. It's possible but not very easy. Hope that helps =D

I srsly- I am 14 and i have been singing all my life- never once have i done vibrato *properly*, usually I just force my voice into a smooth but shaky thing- it's hard to explain when it's not heard-
Thank you so much for this! I've been doing these excercises for a few days now and I'm slowly starting to develope a vibrato!
Thank you so much! With these excersises I developed a vibrato after a day!
1 day 😂😂
I recommend this video 110% !!!
I watched this video months ago I couldn’t do vibrato, i did as what she said, i improved so much that i can do vibrato. Thank you som much 💙
Vibrato came to me kind of naturally. At some point it was just there. But I don't know if I'm doing it right because while I can hit it at most notes, certain notes I just can't get it right. Is that normal or can your video help me achieve it whenever I want?
DestinyHopeLou same with me! I'm wondering the same thing! Especially when I sang a really high pitched note without using falsetto, I blanked.
Good luck!!
+Gina Utami I can't do that !! So sad..
I love how you teach with simplicity and a smile
