I think the Smile song is really representative of Pinkie's inner nature, wanting to make everyone around her happy and brighten up their day when they are down. I'm glad you enjoyed it, it's definitely one of the fan favorites of the series, that's for sure. This episode also explores one of Pinkie's worse qualities, in the fact that she's sometimes oblivious to others' feelings/tries too hard to make people like her when people are rejecting her. I think she heavily depends on others' approval and acceptance, hence why she freaked out so badly in "Party of One" when she thought her friends were rejecting her. Either way, I think this episode is a good representation of everything that makes Pinkie who she is, from the good to the bad.
One of my favorite songs in the whole series. Never fails to bring a tear to my eye. Not even the abomination that is... Smile HD... could ruin this song for me. ... Though it came closer to doing so than I am comfortable with...
Sorry for the constant barrage of comments, but these things keep coming to me at the last minute. XD This episode really shows why Pinkie is my favorite of the 6 (next to Fluttershy). She's hyper, chaotic, and cartoonishly hilarious, but she's also very sweet and has a loving heart.
We seem to be primarily on the same page regarding Pinkie. :D By the way, sorry to ask, and I hope this doesn't come off as annoying or out of place, but... any chance of seeing your reaction to the latest episode soon? I do primarily look forward to your videos the most each week a new episode debuts, after all, in addition to the others, but it just seems to me as if you're lighthearted take on the episodes is my favorite.
TheNightStar Sorry it's taken a while. I've been busy with a lot lately, so I haven't been able to get to the episode yet. It should come about soon enough, though.
Oh, no problem. I understand how that is... I started a blind reaction to Disney's Gargoyles on my channel sometime last week (and other commentaries I plan on doing) and I havn't had the time to get back to it as well, yet.
Cranky' name and Pinky's little song of his name Cranky Doodle Donkey is a play on the song Yankee Doodle Dandy from the 1904 broadway musical Little Johnny Jones. Also the title a friend in Deed is a play on the phrase 'A friend indeed.' The pun is great since rather than indeed being a friend with Cranky, Pinky becomes his friend because of her deeds/actions. Also I usually always stay for the predictions and outros
Fun fact: Cranky's voiced by Richard Newman, who was the Ocean dub voice for Captain Ginyu in Dragon Ball Z, M. Bison from the Street Fighter cartoon (where we got the YES! YES! meme), and Bear Hugger from Punch-Out Wii.
Also, yes, Dinky is often portrayed in fandom as Derpy's daughter, as is Amethyst Star, or Sparkler, since she and Dinky appeared together in Sisterhooves Social.
I love your intro and ending. Also The Smile Song, this song will work its way in to your heart and remain in your top ten best MLP songs even after four seasons, its never been bumped lower then a six and thats impressive considering how many great songs are yet to come and considering that up until now Pinkie Pie didn't have any good songs but this is her most definitive song either ever or for the next season or so. It is every thing Pinkie lives by and for and it always makes us smile. Its even been remade by the fans a few times but watch out for some of the more mature audience interpretations. Some fans are weird. Also I didn't type at all until the song plaid its final note its just that good. I would like to hear at the end of each season your best/worst songs and best/worst episodes too.
Since you asked, and I don't think anyone answered: The cow's accent was a very heavy Upper Midwestern accent. (Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Dakotas, Upper Michigan, and Montana). "Don't 'cha know" and saying "Ya" are some of the more notable aspects of the accent. Since the area is known for their cattle industry, it makes sense to have the cow sound Midwestern. They made the accent very strong, similar to the Rayncher dialect of Minnesota or the Yooper dialect from upper Michigan and Wisconsin.

Another Literal Video for this song "The Smile Song: Literal Video Version" by missbunnsawn th-cam.com/video/Q1VAlpF71KA/w-d-xo.html and for something more closer to the original god knows how many bronies recorded this "[PMV] The Massive Smile Project Music Video" th-cam.com/video/UaG-JijAr-c/w-d-xo.html. Either or both would make good end of Season stuff to commentate on. 8:45 Fabric not paper I watch pieces of this from beginning - End of Smile song, Pinkie's Fabric thoughts, Welcome Wagon, Library and Mattilda - End
A bit of an odd episode for me, this one: I don't actually like it much for the most part, and I find Pinkie really irritating at times... but I couldn't ever hate an episode with *that* song in it. One of the all-time great songs! Also, during the rooftop-bouncing sequence, only two ponies are exactly in step: Lyra and Bon Bon. :D
i ve seen enouge.... ladix u are great i ve liked every one of ur videos since season 1 i ve even pressed like on every 1 keep up the good work.....hey maby i ll even be a great youtuber like u i ll be called bronie warrior and i have youtubers like u to thank i mean all those likes in just 1 week....as rainbow dash would say AMAZING keep up tge good work and i ll try to catch up i seen season 1 to now in just 1 day so shouldnt take long ur biggest fan patrick.A.V aka bronie warrior...........................

I WISH YOU HADNT MENTIONED SMILE HD. I LOOKED IT UP AND AHHH..
why you do dis
Never seen anyone not get happy when listening to the smile song.
Was it a Happy sadness tho?
oh wow i did watch his react but i never knew that the reason was.
Atticus Omundson do you have a link to it?
I really liked the song in this episode because, not only is it catchy as heck, but you also get a good view of one of my favorite ponies, Raindrops.
Some days ARE dark and lonely. One episode of MLP and all is gone. Especially episodes with Pinkie Pie.
Also every season has its low point but things will always get better even when the smiles stop.

Don't forget Rhinox
Richard Newman a beast wars veteran voicing is cool

As good as many of the other songs are, 'Smile, Smile, Smile' remains #1 with me. It never has yet to fail at making me smile. XD
That cow would best be described as having a Minnesota/Wisconsin accent. Watch the movie "Fargo" sometime. That film's full of that kind of speech.
Actually, Every episode of season 2 are thr best of mlp so far.
Pinkie Pie thinks in felt.
Fun Fact: Cranky is voiced by Richard Newman (the voice of Rhinox in Beast Wars).
Lol that smile

You are an angel.
It's a pleasure. Maybe I should make more vectors.
Insane Clown Ponies I will not be in the way of your inspiration :)
Nah, I mean vectors for your videos. Like your OC in a different pose or something a bit more challenging as a side project.
I usually stay for the intro at least but am guilty of not hearing the outro often ^^;
Yes, that unicorn filly was Derpy's fan-lore daughter, Dinky :)
