I've bought a stick of RAM to upgrade from 4 to 8GB but when I occupy the second slot, the laptop won't boot... any ideas?
Swap the RAM modules, then turn on the power and wait for 15 seconds.
One thing you forgot to do... Clean the cooling fan while you have the cover off!

Since you have a dell L E6330 maybe you can help with my problem: My laptop didn't even power on, so I replaced the motherboard. It powers on, but now all LED lights power on but the battery one flashes white - what should I do?
when you say power on , you mean you get to load windows and all except the battery that is flashing?

No display, no boot up, fan turns on briefly then cuts off, battery light flashes white meanwhile all of the other LEDs stay on. @@uFixTek
you have a bad post you need to reprogram the bios, not sure if you know how to but it is cheap it cost 20usd at any repair shop or get amzn.to/3R9FxII
there is nothing wrong hardware side it is a bad bios program.
