If you use 300 DPI the file won’t export in the same size if you plan to open it in Cricut Design Space. Also since it is an SVG or a vector file DPI is not important as there is no pixels. Hope that helps a little!
Very helpful video showing how to create SVG files in Affinity Designer, thankyou. Sometimes I see the files available as svg’s together with eps, dxf etc, is it simply a case of exporting the design from Affinity Designer by clicking onto EPS/ PNG/DXF and then all the other options exporting separately or do you have to do something special with them?
Thank you, Darya, for providing this helpful information. Do you know how I can maintain the layer names when opening the file in Design Space? I want to ensure that the layers have the same names as those I specified in Affinity Designer. Thank you in advance 🌸
hello, what if the web says the svg need viewbox for it to be accepted? its crazy that i always need to export it on inkscape instead on designer directly. found no help on internet, even the affinity team cant help because it need to be developed first. i thought people will have some workaround, but nothing is simple, it require a lot of small doing like edit on notepad, or like me, export on inkscape
This is a very helpful video. I was wondering if you have a video where you show how to create an border line around a finish graphic so when cricut cuts the image it will only cut outside even if it has items over lapping on the border. I would post an image here but I don't think is possible.
@@dashadigital Thanks for responding. Actually it turned out not all items in my layers were curves. I was able to fix that issue. Now I have to figure out why my "Coffee" isn't subtracting from my heart. I press the same buttons as you did in the video, but the word's letters do not clear the space in the heart.
Oh. My. God. You just saved my sanity. I was ready to throw my computer out the window there. You're the best!
You saved me so much trouble and crying girl!! Thank you for this is so amazing 😅. Please keep doing more videos like this
Thank you so much for this video! I'm making a memorial board for my mom and I was wasting so much time trying to figure how to import correctly.
Thank you so much for teaching! This is really super helpful.
Thank you so much can’t wait for the needy Svg video 🥰
Why not to do it at 300 dpi? Thanks

Thank you for the start to finish tutorial. You make it all clear.

Thank you! Using the native designer wasn't working at all for me before watching this video!

How does one cut two colors from one vinyl?

Hi Vicky, if you want to email the image to dasha@dashdigitalco.com I can take a look. Currently this is the only video for Affinity Designer.
@@dashadigital Thank you so much for trying to help me. I have sent you the image as suggested. Thank you again.
Thanks!!
Thanks for this awesome tutorial! Where can we get the font that you used?
This font is called “Golden” but I don’t recall where I got it. I usually use dafont.com or creativefabrica.com!
Why didn’t I think of this? I usually just make it small so it’s not insanely huge
Only one of my layers will import to Design space, even though I selected "export whole document" . 😞 Please help
Have you tried to group the layers in AD then export?

Ok. I just had to hold "ALT" key and then click on the subtract to have "non"-destructive change. That worked for some reason.
@@JessicaLZ awesome, glad you figured it out!
Would this upload the same for Cameo?
I would guess that it should. I don’t have any experience with Cameo so I can’t say for certain.
@@dashadigital thank you! Without your video, I wouldn't have been able to figure out svg in affinity!
