    Great review as always Bo! I've been following you for a while now. We're both basically the same height and build, you ride motorbikes (I ride a bicycle everyday in Amsterdam), so it's nice to hear your perspective on all these bag reviews.
    Have you heard of the Mountain Hardwear Scrambler 25? I'd go so far as saying it's a poor-man's version of the Charlie 25, albeit it's designed specifically for climbing in mind even though the silhouette is very similar. Would love to hear your thoughts!

    i refused to make a purchase decision until your review is out haha. unfortunately, any purchase of this bag means it would mainly be used as an EDC instead of a hiking pack for me, and that alone made me decide to give this a miss. Thanks for the review, Bo. Your short portion on the zippers (how to access, or whether or not u can access the middle zip directly ) is super useful!

      The height of the collar makes it significantly different from Mystery Ranch's design, I think.

      Thanks, Wei Kiat. Happy to hear that you found this video helpful. Yeah, the way the bag opens is "slower" compared to other bags. But if you can get used to it (considering the world has become slower) then the rest of the bag is very good

    Love the review. Thanks for sharing! What tripod are you packing in this video? I didn't see it in the equipment list above, or in the channel about section. Thanks!

    Hey Bo, i just noticed that each side of the flap openings has what looks like pull straps. Could you just pull both of those straps at the same time to undo the main zipper that goes down the bag?

    Living in a hot and humid country, I'm eagerly searching for a meshed framed type back support backpack. Perhaps a 16l - 20l. Any recommendations?

    Flappy straps cure: cable ties or my recent method I roll them up and use those rubber band hair ties 😆

    That crinkly material will get annoying when hiking. Get ITW web dominators to manage the straps.
    The front zipper needs a second zip puller that would you to access the the front zipper from the bottom.

    Hey Bo, I know you've been working from home, but I'm really interested in a first look/review of the Opposethis Ark, they just released it a few months ago and it looks like a very streamlined everyday/weekend bag.

    It always amazes me with these bags how simple stuff is missed, like how easy (or difficult in this case) it is to just get at your stuff on the inside. Once the novelty of the bag has worn off it's just going to get out on a shelf unfortunately.

    • @Youknowthebo
      @Youknowthebo  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I assume that they didn't "miss" it. I guess it's just a different use case. I see many of these tradeoffs (in regards to urban day to day use) on many other hiking bags. Which is why I speculate that these probably aren't that big of a deal when you are hiking

    I spent a while talking to Phil at Remote Eq (we ran a livestream in TPP) and the short answer is: he likes the straps being dangly. I think in this case, the webbing they've used is light enough that it's not too annoying, compared with the 1" webbing we often see.

    This is almost like a fusion of the Mystery Ranch 2dap and Tom Bihn guide pack.
    Personally I don’t mind the strappy look.

    Mystery Ranch could probably sue these guys for stealing the design of the Urban Assault 24. This is EXTREMELY similar.

    • @BearNotBare
      @BearNotBare 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Errr in what way? They are totally different - one has a cinch top with rain flap, one is a tri zip. About the only thing they share in common is they are both bags. If the inner pockets have you upset Boundary Design would like a word

    • @shanec3984
      @shanec3984 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BearNotBare The way it splays open in the middle, the entire inside layout is similar with the 2 small side pockets, 2 what Bo called "break out pockets" and sleeve, somewhat similar water bottle pockets, and a very similar dump pocket on the top.
