    Best Gulda Moments:
1.) A concert was announced for Bach (tempered piano) and sold out. Gulda enters the stage and tells everyone he doesnt feel like playing bach. Instead he starts playing atonal improvised stuff. Lots of people leave and get their money back.
After that he tells the Audience: Now that the idiots are gone, we can finally play Bach!
2.) When already really sick he sent a Fax to an austrian Newspaper announcing his death. Following that many printed eulogies. Couple of days later he released a press statement that he wasn‘t quite dead yet, but thankful for all the nice words. He announced a ressurection party with booze music and gogo-girls.
Shortly after he died for real.

The play style of Lang Lang brings a quote to mind from Mark Twain, “Get your facts first, and then you can distort them as much as you please.” Eddy mentioned in the video that he has earned the write to play the pieces as he wishes, and I very much agree. The fact that Lang Lang plays the pieces in his own style does not mean that does not have the capability or skills to master the original interpretation, rather it more likely means that he already has mastered them and seeks to make his own performances original as a method of popularizing classical music, similar to the mission of TwoSet themselves.

7:20 Actually, Mozart wrote most of his concerts in a hurry (they were assigned "works": compositions that had to be ready even within a week) and well knowing that he (and not any other pianist) would play them and most likely they would never be played again: at that time people always wanted to listen to new music (it was not like now that you play mostly music from the past, more than contemporary music). So, he wrote only the "skeleton" of the music he was going to play, because it would not be published, and they were guide notes to which he would then add all the fioriture and embellishments at the moment of the performance, improvising.

This was one of my very favorite of your pieces, primarily because of your intelligent and sensitive responses to the piano performances. No flash, no special effects, or stagey reactions: just serious consideration. Sophie contributes to that overall impression, but I also love her appreciation of you guys too: your critical observations and your humor. (I'm inclined to guess that you call her "oui- oui " because she says "yes" to both violin and piano.) I also like your "solo" pieces, but the atmosphere changes when a woman - e.g. the wonderful Hilary - shows up to give you guys a hand.

I’m a pianist. Thanks for this video!
Daniil Trifonov is my favorite pianist. It’s like we have the same soul - everything he plays, I’d play exactly the same way. With other pianists (especially when they are playing romantic composers’ pieces, like Chopin) I always have thoughts in my mind like, “I’d play this differently... more ritenuto... not so harsh... more/less pedal...etc.” And I’m not saying that I don’t like how they are playing or that their interpretations are worse in any way. No, they are just different from how I’d play, or have played it.
But with Trifonov - NOTHING!! I’m just mesmerized.

I am a pianist and I personally prefer this second selection of performances than the first one, but I agree so much with her in almost everything. Love Sophie Oui oui

Argerich is my favorite player of Chopin. She also had a mesmerizing performance of a Bach partita in her live at the Concertbau.

You just introduced me to the music of Martha Argerich and Prokofiev. I knew their names, but never really got to listen to them until now. Thank you Two Set and Sophie!

this actually safed my day. I really miss going to live concerts and I had a quite shitty day so far, but hearing and seeing these awesome musicians creating beautiful art .. well, as cheesy as this may sound .. nurtured my soul. please make more videos like this!
