I personally like Diawa...grew up on Diawa,Penn and Abu ( only when the grandad or dad wanted something special..aka expensive in those days) ... But I have tried Lew's and several others...always come back to Diawa... They last, built like a tank ( most of the time) and recently they have really been getting into new ways to make their product better.
Yeah, we fished a lot more saltwater/brackish water ...chesepeake bay and watersheds off it when I was younger. Striper, flounder, etc etc... But I have found success with my more recent versions that are freshwater... And one that's sealed but good for either supposedly...
Thanks i appreciate it. It's a really smooth really for how cheap the set up is I still use the rod but gave the reel away. I Have it paired up with the slx dc and it's great
I have a lews crush combo I paid almost 200 for and this set up shits on it. Super easy to dial in. I use 20lb power pro braid. I got this combo for under 100 bucks and it's my go to set up
very nice dude! great review I'm going to have to try that reel out. I'm using my lews carbon fire reel with isn't bad at all i was thinking of trying some Diawas out

They definitely have got better on the fresh water side most of my saltwater gear is Daiwa and my gator rod and reel is a daiwa

I've also been using it for almost 2 years and no issues. My lews on the other hand, I can't say the same
Everything is true, I have this reel myself !!!
Almost picked up this same combo at my local Walmart... the ones I found are 6'6" MH
It's actually a really good set up

That combo is available in a lefty retrieve as well.
Yeah they just didn't have it at the time
That's how it goes unfortunately
Yeah 😆
How versatile do you think the rod is for lighter baits? put an okuma stratus 6 on it. I feel like it is a lot better with a different reel.
Very good it has a nice light tip. I have a slx dc on it now
Good for frogs? I want to learn frogs and need a MH rod
Very good for frogs
@@SoFlo_Outdoors what line you running?
I commented that before the video loaded 😅
@@abeabe9000 😆 I run a slx dc reel on that rod now but use 30lb braid
Where i can find to buy that combo ?
Dick's sporting good
big 5
Is it good for salt water ?
probably for inshore. definitely have to keep up with cleaning and maintenance
Does it still run good today cause I’m in need of a bait caster that I can put braid on for frogs
still running smooth. it's a excellent set up soft tip on the rod so you can put a lot of action in it. I run 30lb braid on it
@@SoFlo_Outdoors bet you think 40 would work ?
@@Kenzfishing Definitely wouldn't go any higher. Maybe 50 but you'll only have have a out 80 yards
@@SoFlo_Outdoors ok thanks I’m going get it tomorrow 🎣
Awesome man good luck and tight lines
