@ Yep I’ve seen a lot of gear donated to the river gods lol . I lost a 300$ pair of costa sun glasses . I even jumped out of my yak to try and recover them 🥲
i am getting that same kayak , i think it is the best bang for you buck for what i like to do kayaking , which is pretty much what you do lol, water trails and camping
It’s a great entry to mid-level kayak and maneuvers excellent on twisting rivers and tight spots, perfect for short camping trips. But my next one is going to be bonafide ex123 with a removable seat.
Wishbone with a simple but very informative video! I recently bought that exact kayak this past summer, definitely has lots of space, it also handles very well as well, main downfall is the cup holder, it's not very convenient
Jason, I just got started Kayaking in March of this year. I use my backpack that I hike with. I have a hard time staying in the mindset of I'm Kayaking not backpacking. lol I could take so much stuff Kayaking but I am still in backpacking mode. This did come in handy though on my Swamp to Gulf trip because I had such a light system for the portage. You would enjoy the Okefenokee swamp and Suwannee River.
Yeah, I’ve used my backpack on my kayaking trips for the last six years, just started using the big dry bag this year. It’s definitely nice being able to bring some heavier luxury items when kayaking compared to ultralight backpacking that’s for sure! I’ve backpacked along the Suwanee river and I’ve always wanted to kayak it, but haven’t had a chance to get down there yet.
Great question! I just grab ice packs out of my freezer, but doing it that way only gives me one day of cold before they all melt. I’m sure a higher quality cooler would last for a couple days. I just always eat my perishable food on day one and two.
Can't wait till spring!!! Love your videos Jason, See you on a river someday Stay Frosty
I'm with you on that, ready for spring already!
Nice set up Jason. First thing I learned when kayak camping/fishing , “ leash it or lose it “.
You’re right, gotta keep everything secured! I’ve lost hats, sun glasses, cell phones, cameras and drones, I definitely learned the hard way haha

You’ll love it, it’s a great kayak and just the right size for winding rivers and kayak camping trips.
I have the same kayak, Jason, thank you for sharing!

@jasonwish- agreed, the seat could be more comfortable.

Yeah I'm not a huge fan of the cup holder either, but other than that, it gets the job done! Thanks Jon!

What do you use for keeping your food cold?

Once again thanks for the video! I really like your use of the frisbee.. I will definitely incorporate that into my adventures. ✌🏼🇺🇸🛶
You’re welcome! That frisbee is the only way to go if you want to keep all your food on your plate, lol
