I'm so glad they didn't bring him back. as much as I hate to see him dead, him surviving would take away the significance of plan 99 and his sacrifice.
Personally I wanted him to survive and get a happy ending on Pabu but I get what you mean. His death wouldn't be sad and wouldn't mean anything if he survived.

Falling is the most common method of 'death' in a lot of stories and the main reason older audiences follow the 'body' rule. The broken goggles serve as his 'body' and is a very direct message from the writers that he isn't coming back. I actually like that. The delay between his fall and the goggles not only gives you a small amount of hope before they crush it, but it also shows they went back to make sure. Death by falling is never 100%, even at terminal velocity.
The fact that we can't accept his death means that they wrote his character well. We feel the loss that the bad batch feel every time we see them. Every time we feel like someone is missing.
Tech is so relatable I’m smart and people rely on me so much because I’m so intelligent and I’d rather have people see me for anything but my intelligence and beauty I really don’t like when people call me pretty
