my headcanon: the shifting woods assimilate all who die in it, and counless priests have tried to purify the area to no avail, becoming a part of it in the process.
I think that's what the delirium is conveying. It's just another land until the madness creeps in. And if Emrakul's influence could corrupt the real Avacyn, then what can some puny wards do?
I agree that the art in Signature Slam makes it feel like it isn't a spell, and leads me to believe that it can only be there for one of two reasons - either it's to soften the landing for a WWE secret lair later this year, or to pander to those fans within the MTG player base without having to invest in the IP. Both ideas are cringe af, but neither would be surprising considering all the other nonsense they've jammed into this game recently.
Gonna do an altwork of Fanatic of Rhonas. It's Going to be nearly 1 for 1, except it's Kanye West. He's one of the few people I can imagine walking around with a staff of himself in front of a structure of himself.

The hell ugins binding?! Whoever designed that card needs to be fired. Like holy crap. Rift is annoying enough to deal with in every deck with blue in its color and now this just a free rift by dropping a creature with 7 or more power?! Goddman stupid and horrid design.
Honestly, I’m keeping a couple of commander decks and that’s it. The power creep is really turning me off. My collection is getting smaller set after set.
I think the idea with Shifting Woodland art is that it’s a “graveyard” (hence the shovel) and the symbols kinda keep it at bay. But when the Delirium requirement is met, it shuts down those symbols for a turn (also hence why it does change into a permanent permanently.) Just how my mind works it out, but coulda def been fleshed out better
It's flippin bonkers. I'm starting to sell off my legacy playable cards because of it... Cause MH3 turning modern into Legacy Lite (or Legacy Light 🔥) is gonna take Legacy itself out back to put it down without even the dignity that Old Yeller gets.
Nadu design is Wizards on a ton of cocaine- it triggers twice PER creature. Of off abilities and your own stuff too. Commander games gonna turn into Cinderella re-enactments when all the creatures gonna try if they fit the Lightning Greaves.
It is a powerful ability no matter what. FOr some sense of balance it should only trigger if your opponent targets not if you do. THat is such a insane level of abusability>
I was expecting you to stay on Nadu a lot longer. That card seems incredibly abusable with any free equipment and any landfall triggers that make tokens, among other things. The lands it puts into play aren't tapped and the "twice per turn" is for each individual creature, meaning even if you only have 2 other creatures, a shuko or lightning greaves is drawing 6 cards and untapped ramping every land among them. If you have a scute swarm out, each of those lands is making another creature to dig 2 more cards with until you hit enough lands for exponentially increasing counts of tokens and you just get your entire deck. All that said, the card might just be too awkward to make work in modern, but I would be very surprised if it's not an incredibly powerful commander to build around.
@DiabloTommaso okay, so queery: if the only format of a game that remains in health is a SINGLE alt' format and it's vague off shoots is the game really okay? The argument that a branch is alive compared to the tree doesn't strike me as okay.

Ugin's Binding is visualizing Ugin aligning the hedron network along Zendikar leylines. Also this is the last Ugin card I wanna see before a flip Ugin is revealed
3:44 - So, As long as I have something in my GY, with annihilator or another ridiculous on-attack-trigger, I can basically screw them over on turn 3-4 with some llanowar elves and self-mill? Seems fair....
@DarthTUK it depends on how big the GY is. If it's 30 cards a good shuffle should make it impossible to find any specific card either players wants, but yeah if you are under 20 cards obviously just use the dice closest to the count.
If it didn't cost the price of a third liver the fully build the Eldrazi commander deck from a few months ago would be really appealing with that Ugin card.
Just a thought to reduce the wall of text on cards: Wouldn't be:" When this creature is targeted..." enough instead of "Whenever this creature becomes the target of a spell or ability..."?
Yes, but you do need to target each creature with a spell or ability, which would be tricky if not for 0 cost equip cards. So that only twice text keeps you from drawing your whole deck with 2 creatures and some lightning greaves.
@@Glowcl0ud Yes, although that would require an extra colour. (most if not all landfall: do damage is in red) and you are not likely to hit a land every time. There are setups to make it more feasible, but they require more specific cards than "any 2 creatures" and "any 0 cost equipment". I am sure their are still setups to make it draw your whole deck, but 0 cost to equip is the easiest repeatable "target a creature" I can think of.
