- Nicky Fletcher is seeking an investment of £100,000 in return for a 20% equity stake in 'Equisafety'. The company makes clothing and accessories for the equestrian, cycling, motorbike and canine markets. Nicky Fletcher already has Deborah Meaden as a customer prior to The Den, but will any of the Dragons invest after listening to her stocktake?
An international sensation, Dragon's Den features entrepreneurs pitching for investment in the Den from our Dragons, five venture capitalists willing to invest their own money in exchange for equity.

@@Adam-M1 Except in this case the woman is dishonest to the core. That's not just my assessment but also of a High Court judge who was ready to have her locked up for contempt of court. She has used at least one false identity, tried to steal a trademark and engaged in behaviour with a competitor at equestrian events that led to the police being called on a number of occasions. She is a horrible person.

As a horse rider, I can say that Equisafety is doing really well nowadays. All farm stores stock them and I wear their hi vis puffer jacket. Most of my friends wear their clothes/use the hi vis horse exercise rugs too

If you would slow down for a cop, you should slow down for any cyclist. I know you're joking, but I think you've accidentally given away the mentality of a lot of drivers towards cyclists (i.e. "if I know I won't get in trouble for it, I'll drive unsafely")
@@nathanglover8938 I only have 3 issues with cycling.
1) Cyclists should be traceable as cars are through the number plates (so they won't be sexting on the phone and cycling all wobbly)
2) Cyclists should have to prove they've read the highway code (so a cyclist won't try to cut me out from the left at a roundabout and so forth).
3) When cycling in the City, cyclists must have indicators. (Many don't indicate and suddenly swerve making us emergency break which puts us, themselves and others at more risk! Perhaps they don't feel safe to take hands off the bike or are just lazy).
Besides these 3 grievances I got with 'SOME' cyclists, cycling is great...keep it up folks.

Old business : depends on how many products you sold. if you sell 5000 products in 4 years thats just bad
Good profit : isnt what saturated means. if your business is already in every market that means there is no increasing it in millions.
low profit: its about potential. most of the businesses run in loss for some time. if you are running your business for 13 years with low profit. there is no market.
yes they want a mid level business that is earning some profits but still has room for growth, its a sweet spot...thats not conflicting? (you know midcaps perform much better than large caps but are also not as risky as penny stocks...)

The really bad pitches are the most entertaining, but the good ones like this one are a breath of fresh air after watching a lot of mediocre ones that trip at the last hurdle or get an investment as a wager essentially.
I think this lady handled the Dragons' questions in a remarkable way; unruffled, she defended her product in an effortless, and likeable manner. A consummate professional!

"I thought of this in 2010" she says. I saw this used in Cornwall about 1962. Silly girl. It was a regular thing in several seaside towns and villages. I was first introduced to this at Polkerris which is near Fowey. It was also used on 'POLITE NOTICE- NO PARKING' signs. It was very effective which is why others adopted the idea. The idea has been in use before this girl was born.
This lady is so down to earth, knew her figures, spoke well I would invest.
that POLITE notice is nothing new, i used a printers in brighton in the mid 90s that printed stuff using the polite notice for there own advertising, i wonder if they know about this?

For me the most interesting part is who awkwardly goes in for a kiss and who doesn't (also awkwardly).
This is the only thing keeping me sane atm.
Being a horse rider myself wearing a fluorescent top is vital when trekking partly on public roads, being seen protects you a lot and helps your case later if you get into a road accident, some terrible drivers out there. Stay safe fellow riders!

It means any payouts via dividends from the company comes out to him first, until payback, rather than being pro-rated between the shareholders equally

I think the unsold inventory(factory) is considered as overextension of credit.
She has no cash. Just debt.
and then spending more resources$ to store products (warehouse).
I think this was economics 101-2.
Managing inventory is crucial to success.
It's called cash flow,she's in debt of £48 000 but has £250 000 worth of stock, if she managed her stock properly she wouldn't be in debt and would have more cash in the business and wouldn't have to be looking for investors as she would have the money. If you manage your stock correctly it frees up cash that can be used in other ways,maybe advertising/marketing etc

She came across as a little abrasive, but in absolutely no way pig headed, so I don't see the dragons' problem with her stock. Stock will sell and the point of having a dragon is to help in all future decision making so that issues like that don't crop up. The USP of having a dragon on board, the reason you'd perhaps give away more equity to a dragon than to an investment fund, is that you get to benefit from their experience and judgement. That's why it seems weird to me that sometimes a dragon will step out because the branding is wrong - YOU can fix that in 5 minutes!

A MASTER degree in “performance sportswear”. I find that a little ridiculous.
Without Sportswear development we wouldn’t have Half of the world records that exist in sports. Aerodynamic cycling helmets, those full body swimsuits that got banned for giving too much of an advantage, goalkeeper gloves.
It’s merely applying science to a specific area. It’s no more ridiculous than the research that goes into developing new shampoos
