The whole dungeon felt like a somber farewell. Deep down Van knew what was going to happen to him. He knew he would have to wake up from his dream. He knew that there was a real chance he would never see his friends or his loved ones again. And in this fight against the man who forced him to break out of his shell, to accept who he really is and what he has to become. Van stands tall with his friends, with his family at Arkride Solutions. And in the end, he finally achieved his true purpose. Or so he thought, that changed when his family dragged his ass back to them. tbh van in one game has given me all I ever wanted from a morally gray protag in this series. i cannot wait for kai when he has interactions with rufus
@@DaneTheDane overdubbing those lines in Japanese was such a genius decision. Quality of translation aside, NISA's localization will always be shit simply for removing that layering from those 2 transformation scenes. Van/Grendel sound so much more eerie and otherwordly in Japanese.

The duo of Jindo and Teramae(?) can't be stopped! Might be my favorite battle track in the game. Reminds me of Heavy Violent Match, only with more orchestral parts.
The first song I ever heard from the Kuro OST! Back when I first listened to this, my initial impressions were something along the lines of "Holy shit, the soundtrack for this game is going to be so good!" While the soundtrack ultimately didn't fully live up to my expectations, it doesn't make this song any less great. This style of song isn't anything particularly new for Jindo, but it's a great example of just how much he's improved over the years. Also, Teramae killed it with that guitar solo at 1:48, probably my favorite part of the song. I've got nothing but praise for this track, it's just great.
This is the absolute BEST Trails final boss theme since Azure Arbitrator and honestly I might even like it more than that one too personally. Once again Yukihiro Jindo and Masaru Teramae proving they are the ultimate dream team duo when it comes to not only Falcom music, but just video game OSTs in general. Gives me those Heavy Violent Match intense neo-classical vibes, but alongside more dramatic and anthemic orchestral arrangements as well. Legit chills inducing musical piece and even more so after experiencing the fight that goes alongside the theme.

Simply a masterpiece, one of Jindo's best works. Love the neoclassical style and the orchestra combined with Teramae's flawless guitar. 🔥

Great song to get S-crafted twice in a row to.
Seriously though, what an awesome track
