Lived in Andover from 1993 to 2005 after which emigrating to Australia, it breaks my heart to see all the boarded-up shops from when I grew up no longer in business or being used. Went to Knights Enham infants then juniors school and the last school being Harrow Way Community school.
Some old memories of the Old Town, lived there for 2 years, 1967 - 1969, paper round at W H Smith, always made me late for School, could,nt get out of bed syndrome, haha..worked at Hutchings Engineering on the Walworth Industrial Estate for a year before Emigrating to Australia back in 1969.
@@mikpark91 worked at Hutchings 1969 for 10 months, was my first job straight from school...my Mother and step Dad worked at Croydex...late 69 we emigrated to Australia, came back to England 1976....retired now and live in Thailand, it certainly is a small World.
@@mikpark91 most likely yes, I am a Tottenham fan and my favourite band is The Who...I can only remember a few names at Hutchings, a fella we all called Flicka, never swore always said flick this flick that, at that time you either wore a brown coat or if more qualified a white coat...Ray, brown coat..Mick, brown coat and his oppo with the Spiky Hair, Mod Crop...I think a fella named Ken, brown coat, a bloke whos surname was Thirkettle, white coat, operated a lathe..I used to grind down the cams after he measured them out..he had a really Sexy daughter named Anne...cant remember much else, never went back into Engineering after I left for Aussie..Driving was more my line.anyway hope you might remember some of that lot.

Hey I worked at Hutchins as well,69-72 then moved back to London got divorced got married again and moved to Yorkshire and I’m still there.
