    Discovery 1. 1996. 300 TDI. I rotated the original boost pin 180 degrees and rotated the toothed wheel 1.75 turns clockwise and that worked great More torque and no smoke. Smoke is bad

      Very interesting! Forgive my ignorance but what toothed wheel? Mine does smoke now so you’ve got me wondering if I’ve got it wrong.

      @@DaleReubin When you take the pin and diaphragm out, you will see there is a spring sitting on a toothed wheel (commonly called the starwheel). By moving the starwheel up or down the thread you can alter the preload on the spring. More preload = less smoke. Different folk have different tuning strategies, some like more preload, some like less, some like more max fuel screw, some like less. Search for VE pump tuning you'll find tutorials.

    Enjoying the upgrades you are doing bro. Worst case scenario is you get a much better understanding of the workings of the engine.

      Thanks bro! There’s so much that needs doing. I am enjoying to process of learning the engine though!

    Thanks for the upload. Your video helped me with the boost pin location today and which direction to install it. Fantastic.

    Just unbolt the aircon compressor and leave the pipes connected and move it upwards and tie it up, gives you the room you need, take off any support clips on the aircon hoses to increase the movement, no need to drain the aircon gas

      All the Fourby gear come with a QR code on the packaging. That will take you to the fitting instructions online.

      @@DaleReubin pump has probably been turned up prior to the boost pin being fitted meaning that it has loads of extra fuel - all the boost pin really does is increase the fuelling and change the delivery curve so if the pump has had its fuel turned up alrady you get way too much fuel

    Can you plz do an update to this and let us know if your fuel economy has gone down after installing the upgraded boost pin

    Nice upgrade!
    How did it affected the fuel usage?

    • @DaleReubin
      @DaleReubin  ปีที่แล้ว

      I honestly haven’t noticed a difference at all. I still need to fit the boost ring. Maybe that’ll cause more fuel usage. Not sure.

    Don’t bother …. Uses loads of fuel and exhaust manifold gets red hot
    If you want to go faster buy a faster vehicle
    Don’t compromise the reliability of the Landrover buy ringing it’s neck…….
