    To get the best out of the VNT now you will need to get the fuel system adjusted along with boost pressure on the Dyno. It will be a totally different animal then. 💨 👍😎

      Yep, definitely need a tune to get the most out of a new turbo.

    Sceptical on the double washer on that banjo fitting

      I would have used a couple of copper crush washers, and probably annealed them for good measure

    • @SHANDEE2
      @SHANDEE2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep, would have just ran a normal Banjo washer top n bottom. No rubber seal on those washers.

    Update on performance over time would be great.

    Hey! Now you have had it in how is it performing. Interested to see the boost pin video and results as well

    More power, more downstream problems on the way. Hope not but just my experience. Replace with new stock parts for reliability. Love this LR, very well set up for trips.

    Nice one
    Looks like it should make the defender some more power 👍

    Has it made any improvement? Like power and pulling power. Is there more turbo noise as well?

    what did you use for the boost hose line ?
    also where did you get the turbo kit from

    Great video… curious as to know what the cost was (including shipping) landed in Australia?

    • @howgood1140
      @howgood1140 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah ditto, according to their website you're copping at least $2.5k before shipping 😵

    • @SIDETRACKED
      @SIDETRACKED  ปีที่แล้ว

      About $2540 landed. May have been some tax on top once arriving, can't remember now.

    • @robmacca67
      @robmacca67 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SIDETRACKED thanks for that... I thought u would have been hit with extra tax. Anything over $1000 and u are hit with extra tax which would have made the total cost around $3000 or so landed...
      Will be interested to hear of the performance results vs cost outlay especially with u running 35” tyres

    But one question: @2:27 the pipe, in your hands. Can you tell me the name ? I mean between engine and turbo, because I need a new one and can't find them.

    Get yourself dual intake

    • @jamesneeson5692
      @jamesneeson5692 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I did a dual intake and it performs better with lower EGT's

  • @tedpanozzo7632
    @tedpanozzo7632 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Why didnt you upgrade to a dual port intake? I have it on my 300tdi disco and it breathes so much better! Only cost me $600

    • @SIDETRACKED
      @SIDETRACKED  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I didn't know they were that much better. Thanks, I'll do more research.

    • @tedpanozzo7632
      @tedpanozzo7632 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SIDETRACKED It drives like a normal car now, my Disco is completely stock except for the intake and it flies up hills and accelerates like a petrol car.
      You can get the whole kit from the UK for about $600.

    Was the manifold drilled to accept EGT probe when you received it?

    • @SIDETRACKED
      @SIDETRACKED  ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope this was done by me, 1 part I forgot to get any footage of... There is a designated area to drill, probably not pre-drilled due to the varying probes that might be used?

    Me thinks that because you have no qualms about throwing money towards this British Jeep, that perhaps contact dieselpumpUK and get the OM606 engine and kit and be the first in OZ to punt a 300HP Defender around the country. I'd like to see that done.
