For most of the US, SINGER is a forgotten company. Singer manufactured sewing machines, and it was so profitable that the company built the Siinger Tower in NYC in the early 1900s, which was eventually torn down in 1968. There is so much less demand for sewing machines now that sales are rock bottom.
My mom was one of the millions of housewives & with my 2 older sisters ,who mended or used those dress, etc pattern in the 60s early 70s to sew thier own clothes too !
@@terrencemccoy8219 I'll bet if I go down in my basement I could find old dress patterns and material from my mother and sisters, I'm 77 and remember those days. God Bless
It's a shame it's such a lost skill for so many anymore. My mother was a wonderful seamstress as well. Home ec classes aren't even in schools. Neither is shop or civics. It's no wonder things are such a mess now.
I wonder if this was Ida's way of telling stas to be careful about their stand - ins & not to take them for granted. She wasnt only an actress but a director as well. 😮
Excellent actress miss Ida Lupino always loved you❤
Both are well matched here and the results are well worth the watch

Marion looks like a blond Joan Crawford😮😯
That´s Eleanor Parker. I can´t believe she was cut out of the credits. She was far more beautiful than Joan Crawford, in my opinion.
