Me, too! I remember watching these on Sunday afternoon in Chicago in the 1960's. WGN I believe. Either Sherlock Holmes with Basil Rathbone or Charlie Chan. I was in elementary school.
Talk about exciting! What a plane ride. No peanuts no stewardesses. No flight attendants. No luggage no breakfast lunch or dinner. Only passengers and pilots.
B&W is good. Watching it centers the brain to the plot. Black& White: “Look at that guy. Wonder if he’s the killer.” Colored: “Look at that guy…. And look at that bright red couch”.
@@Billys-Joint CC In Paris is one of my favorites....it had long been considered a lost film like 4 of the first 5 films with Warner Oland are. Carries On, Courage, Greatest Case, and CC's Chance are sadly lost.
@@Billys-Joint All the thanks to you, Bill, for your fine channel. By the way, the 1938 film," Mr. Moto's Gamble', with Peter Lorre, was originally supposed to be a Charlie Chan film. initially titled, Charlie Chan At Ringside. But Warner Oland died before shooting started.
Thank you, Billy! I made it through the entire series. Now, time to choose the next of your great compilations. Nice to end with this one in Paris. Really a good one.
I adore these movies! They could have had a Chinese actor play Charlie Chan. Why didn’t they? They still could remake these movies. I don’t know why they don’t do that.
I love number two son. Wants to be the brains behind it all, just like Dr. Watson. Although number two son shoots in the dark a little more often.. Nothing derogatory, just a fan making an observation..
@@Billys-Joint Funny story about CC Murder Over New York. Forty years ago, I saw this film along with Another Thin Man. Shemp was in both. I contacted the people who had written a book about the Stooges around that time and let them know they omitted these two films from their chronology of films in which one of the Stooges performed. They got back to me and told me they had no record of him being in the films. They essentially brushed me off. C'est la vie.
Chan is the MAN! Ty Billy!

Glad u like it Candy
It's weird how some viewers get the clips and ads and some don't like me here. Maybe YT rotates it?😊
Wow, the second movie with
Oland was great. The plot, the acting, the extraordinary dance scene at the beginning. And released in 1935.
haha yes Anthony, Thx for stopping in
I have had a crush on Nardi… since age of ten-last 43 years…
Catching up on the double feature premiers I missed out on Billy. 😉👍

I dont think that dance in the second picture would pass a modern PC test. LOL
haha perhaps not Eric
the channel owner deleted a similar comment of mine. 🙁
I did not delete your comment Danny. TH-cam must have done it. They have filters that can block seemingly innocuous comments. Sorry about that.
Charlie Chan make off spring (BANG BANG!) (ring) Yes chief be right there. Love you honorable mother. Must go to work.

Good point Deborah. A remake would be cool
I love a good detective mystery.

Shemp was also in 'The Invisible Woman' (1940). He was a fine actor by himself, apart from the Stooges. 😄👍
