I used to love the Gilbert's. I almost went through the entire Bible with them chronologically. I would read it, then listen to them read it and talk about it. They take to a supernatural worldview of the Bible. The Deuteronomy 32 worldview that Dr. Michael Heiser teaches about. Anyway, we got to Isaiah 53 and as I was reading it by myself I recognized it was about Christ, waaay before His time. I was so excited to hear what they had to say about it only to be extremely disappointed. Sharron briefly mentioned "oh yeah, heres a picture of Christ" but then went straight into supernatural speculation. I saw it as a giant red flag and I stopped listening to them shortly that. Thankfully the Lord has brought me a long way since then 🙏❤

I listened to his show. Ten minutes of news. Can’t remember the name. I really liked it. He seemed sound. Then, I watch a few episodes with him and his wife-different show. It was off, so I quit listening.

I'm like you. Sadly the more I watched the more I was upset with them. Derek's news channel is great n some of their documentary works are amazing (especially the child abuse one). But stuff like "critters" makes all of us look nuts
The charismatic movement is a great vessel for the enemy to use to turn people away from Christianity. If I didn't know Jesus and I saw that stuff, I would run the other way.
Nooooo kidding! They are like psychiatric patients who missed their last few delusion blocker dosages. They are so lost. The irony is that the Truth is LITERALLY in their hands when they carry the Bible around. It's so sad.

@@2Chor5_13 That is actually not surprising at all, when even Christians, also some of the pastors in the grace movement, even brag about having Netflix and other such entertainment platforms installed in their homes, also for their children to watch, pushing all these occult and New Age ideas day in and day out. Next, the charismatic movements feeds at first on people's desperation, and in this world, there is a lot of it! Then they hold people fast with vanity, all this Joel Osteen "you are amazing"-garbage, and promises of being able to have all the apostolic gifts and enormous wealth as a faithful believer. Basically, the charismatic movement is the same old pyramide scheme used against the weak in the world, now just with a Christian tag.
Charismatics are obsessed with Supernatural manifestations. It leads many to imagine up all sorts of weird happenings to validate their connection.
It lead people to blasphemy the Holy Spirit.
Many says speaks tounge and say it from God.
Well, i say that's a blasphemy when one uttering gibberish from their mouth, gibberish which is constructed by themselves and atribute it to Holy Spirit of God.

I have to work so hard when I let people know I am a Christian that I am not one of these wingnuts it's frustrating. It made my heart sink to see Sharon on this. Years and years ago (10+ probably) I used to like the Gilberts' radio program. Seemed like once they got recognized, something changed. I was disturbed to see them on the Bakker's program a while back. So sad.
99% of Christians who "make it big" abandon sound doctrine. Their ego & pressure gets to them ***which I understand, having thousands if not millions of people following you would be overwhelming they just seem to handle it the wrong way
@@daa589 the overconcentration of focus on aliens/ufos/nephilim/transhumanism was the first worry. I never heard them get into "charismatic" stuff. That subject matter is so sensational (which is not to say illegitimate) and so unfruitful when over-emphasized. I checked out from them years ago. :(
As a new Christian, I can absolutely confirm what Justin says about how non Christians perceive the church through the lens of charasmania. Bunch of wackos. Happily the real Jesus showed up to witness to the truth of himself. It always used to puzzle me why there where so many Christians if THAT is what Christianity is.
I am so glad that I left this movement many years ago. I have seen this stuff first hand in Pensacola,and in Toranto back in the 90s.
What chaos these guys produce is astounding!

Slimy is a good word for Jim Bakker. I'll never understand why any Christian would allow themselves to be interviewed by him.
I do, however, think Tammy Faye was sincere. Among other things, when she died, her funeral was attended by (among others) Vanilla Ice and Ron Jeremy, who appeared with her on a reality show.
And yes, The Young Turks is very liberal and skews towards being anti-religious, although they've had people of faith on their show as guests, and even as hosts.

I attended a "how to exorcise critters" at a charismatic church (long story). They used all the same language and for some reason, kept saying "garden variety critters" when referring to spirits. It's pretty unreal how much everyone at this "class" was gobbling it up.

some christians only want to believe in the supernatural when it fits into their neat little box. This was a small clip of a large interview on why so many people are turning to the new age for answers when they have a supernatural experience. We as christians should be able to answer these questions and lead them to the Lord. More and more people are experiencing demonic activity, I think it was brave of Sharon to talk about her experience knowing she would be mocked. I am very disappointed in this interview, Derek and Sharon do not only speak about aliens (the demonic) they cover many topics that the majority of the church prefer to bury their head in the sand. This was plain wrong , Justin should have done a little more research into who they are.
Demonic activity world wide is on the raise, mocking christians who are trying to make people aware of it and that the bible has the anzwers is not right.

I do want to say, though, that just because someone disagrees with you on eschatology doesn't mean it is a 'false' view. There are many great men of God who have very different views of the end times. As long as it is not encroaching on your view of the gospel, it is not a primary issue and should not divide the body of Christ. Blessings.

Growing up, I only knew the former culturally and had knowledge of the latter. Dealing with people trying to heal me and cast demons caused a lot of damage. It had taken reading the Bible for myself and videos such as from Justin that brought me to understanding sound doctrine.

Has anyone considered the possibility that these people are so demon possessed that their experiences might be partially authentic, which would lend further proof of their depravity? When someone shows me a few dozen times they're insane, I start to believe them.
Demon posessed like Kenneth Copeland and Todd Bentley? Those two are more obvious, but Heidi Baker is probably there, too.

Personally, I find that all of them are easily exposed which is why it's so disheartening to see so many follow them over the cliff when we all understand if they'd simply open up their Bibles and read, the Holy Spirit would reveal the truth to those that earnestly seek the truth. So much of society is lazy and pawn their responsibility off to a pastor. Big churches with large productions cater to our human nature of easily being impressed with such things.

I have many charismatic friends and family and they get really upset with me when I address the lunacy of what they believe and how detached from the Bible (reality) both their traditions and their leaders are. The pushback I get from them really grieves my heart because they knowingly accept unbiblical teachings and practices that in some cases are demonic. When I show them video clips of their favorite soap box preacher "teaching" extrabiblical or downright ridiculous things, like what Justin shared in this video clip, I usually a get the response "...touch not mine anointed..." in KJV translation. It's really scary and it's hard to not think of their movement as brainwashing. It is a theological cult and true followers of Christ are going to have step up and repudiate them - call them out - for the lies and destructive seeds they are continuing to spread across the world. These are destructive heresies.
I agree with you when it comes to NAR, word of faith, and all these other clown shows posing as Christian but Sharon and Derek are not part of this. This clip is deceitful its one sentence out of a whole interview. The topic was how people are having demonic experiences and turning to New Age for the answers as most Christians cant, wont addresses it unless it fits into their little box.. More and more people are having demonic experiences and its only going to get worse WHO do they go to if the really body of Christ cant deal with it. They end up in the New age or in some fake church. The answer is in the Bible and we should be able to help them.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and the Truth is that if you're truly following Jesus, you're sure to experience this.
Also, when I was reading in your comment about the way your friends have been responding to your proclamation of the Truth, a few passages came to me:
1. In 2 Timothy 3:12-13, we're warned by the apostle Paul that all who will live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution and evil men and seducers will wax worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.
2. In 2 Timothy 4:3-4, we're warned by this same apostle that the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but after their own lusts they will raise up for themselves teachers, having itching ears and they will turn their ears away from the Truth and will turn to fables.
3. In the first two verses of 2 Peter 2, the apostle Peter makes it clear that false prophets rose up among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them and bringing swift destruction on themselves and many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the Way of Truth will be blasphemed.
Thanks for the great work you are doing! Hopefully, true believers will wake up and leave these churches in droves.
I'm so glad God used you for such case like this, as people do need to be called out and show everything from the bible, including where the rules and morales came from, we didnt learn to read and write, as God when he created us he gave that knowledge before fall!!!!
When I was still in H.S. back in the 90's, I remember 'see You at the pole' where student believers gathered together for prayer at our respective H.S. campuses before class one day out of the school year. Every yr we had a hyper-charismatic classmate who dragged out the prayer by praying 'in tongues' which made us all look crazy. She was the ONLY ONE who prayed in gibberish, all the other student believers were from orthodox backgrounds. Although we knew she was deceived having believed in tongues(gibberish) she was a great friend. which made it even more heartbreaking.

Short and to the point. I like it.
This stuff bothers the hell out of me as well. Lost souls see the charismatic movement and these TV scammers and think that all of Christianity is just as bad as what they're seeing.
They're judging the content of Christianity based on its outer layer of skin ("I Have a Dream", speech reference).
But if you ever try to use that argument to show them that they're making an unfair judgment, it doesn't work.
They are blinded by their sin, a sort of reprobate mind, they have denied wisdom from the Holy Spirit and they just can't see that they're making a misinformed judgment.
It's honestly very heartbreaking... Many people will never understand the gospel simply because Christianity has been given a bad name by these wolves in sheep's clothing.
That's one of the worse aspects of charismatic weirdness isn't it. That they also tend to be the most likely to be seen by unbelievers, who then think "that's what christians are like". TV Charismatics are literally making the devil's propaganda for him.
I used to watch their show and all of their topics were really weird. Justin you are right it is because of people like them that causes those outside the church to make a mockery of Christianity. I try to be a faithful witness to Christ everyday and everyday I don't feel worthy but I know my sins have been forgiven and I know I am saved.

Jim Bakker 2.0. I used to enjoy David Jeremiah until I saw too many things that concerned me that made me wonder who he's really involved with. His church has a bizarre, huge stained glass picture the is off putting; many believers have noted it is the Eye of Horus. Hand gestures (can't always rely on that, but in combination with other things makes me take note) cause me to consider freemasonry. His associations w TBN, the Crouches, Joel Osteen, Roma Downy and Word of Faith movement did it for me.
We need to truly pray for these ppl as well as ourselves to be kept from deception; esp in the days we find ourselves where deception abounds. Blessings
I remember him when I was growing up. He seems to be doing the same thing that got him sent to prison. He seems to be always selling something that people do not need
