Is It Possible To Beat Kirby Super Star Ultra's True Arena With Only A CPU Helper?

- Kirby Super Star remains one of the best games in the series, but after playing it a ridiculous amount over the years, I'm utterly fed up with it and can't bear the thought of doing so anymore. But even the most well-worn games can be given a new lease of life if you approach them from a new angle...
Perhaps Super Star's best feature is the ability to create helpers to join Kirby on his adventures and also enable a second player to take part in the fun. But if you lack a spare controller, fear not - the helpers will then be controlled by a CPU ally. Loneliness isn't a requirement this time.
Don't get too excited, however. I would say the CPU A.I is dumber than a box of rocks, but that would be an insult to the rocks. You will quickly regret wasting Kirby's precious abilities to create them after the tenth time they get themselves killed without contributing anything of value to the war effort.
And it got me wondering: Exactly how far can these helpers go without Kirby attacking any of the foes they encounter and leaving all the work to them instead? Is it possible to beat the arena, the toughest mode in Super Star, with only a CPU helper?
I already did this with Kirby Super Star's Arena, and now I bring my attention to the Ultra remake's versions. How will the changes to this edition affect the challenge?
The rules are as follows:
- The first golden rule that must never be broken is that Kirby must never attack most enemies or bosses, it must be left to the CPU helpers. Heart of Nova/Kabula are the only bosses that Kirby is allowed to attack.
- The second golden rule: The helper must be controlled by the CPU at all times and never a player.
- Kirby can turn a helper into an item then use it to bring them back with full life, essentially giving them infinite health if used without restriction and making the challenge not very challenging.
There are three options, depending on how difficult the player wants the challenge to be:
1. Only use this trick between rounds as a way to heal.
2. Set a limit to how often it can be used throughout the entire run.
3. Not use the trick at all and only heal helpers with Maxim Tomatoes.
- During battles, Kirby is not allowed to heal helpers or create new ones if die/start to die with the use of his own abilities. The only way the helpers may restore health is if they touch an enemy with an ability while dying and absorb it or if T.A.C uses his copy powers to absorb one.
- All types of helpers are allowed to be used.

Also it's funny how most of Galacta Knight's attacks can usually be handled by ducking and sliding. Even the flame pillars, no joke.

I genuinely did not expect the cpu's to succeed. I thought Galacta would just end it right there
well, the power of save states, quite literally, _saves_ the day!
I always found it odd that original Kracko Jr was never in the original arena, while Kracko Jr's Revenge is in the true arena.
Because otherwise, that's only 9 bosses. The developers thought you couldn't be kicked in the balls enough.

Especially weird when you consider that the arena has 19 bosses. Jr. would have made it an even 20.
Kracko Jr. is so painstakingly easy anyway. Just use the Hammer Flip when he gets close, or wait until he spawns a Waddle Doo and grab it and throw it (with Jet, Suplex, Fighter, etc.)

It’s probably doable until you reach The Ultimate Choice and Heroes From Another Dimension.
Dream Friends exist. If revivals are allowed, then Magolor or the Three Mage Sisters would probably SWEEP Soul Melter EX. However, the fact that you can’t just absorb and recreate your Friend between fights for healing might put a spin on things if revivals aren’t allowed...

With only one helper it may be okay to revive, but 3 helpers no revivals is much more interesting.

honestly, i personally think that, considering how stupid he is usually, the helper did not actually did that bad on the galacta fight, even if i guess that it must kave took 100 or more try for him to do that

@Noah zzstu Smith, if it seems too easy with the greatly increased A.I. of the allies, you could probably just use 1 like in super star
Kid me spent an absurdly long time just attempting to beat this thing normally (took me a while to understand how Op the basic guard move was), so the idea that this is even possible kind of blows my mind
For me, it's always annoying when there's a boss in the true arena modes that forces you to use a star shooter-esque form to beat it since you can't experiment with different abilities with it.
Same, not to mention the unneeded genre-shift. I'm playing a platformer for a reason, game!
And when you’re practicing and replaying this super mega ultra spicy final true arena again and again, knowing after fighting tooth and nail against bosses, right before the final battle, *break the targets!*
Robobot has it the worst, though. Not only are there two of them, one of them is the final boss, and he's (in my opinion) probably the easiest Soul boss so far.

Funny thing is, Galacta Knight pretty much inflicts the same level of fear and helplessness into human players as he does A.I. I can't believe Wham Bam Jewel didn't even need save states like the other Last Four.
If you're really desperate for another Helper challenge, try the Ultimate Choice with just 3 Helpers attacking. You'll need all 3 since you can't heal them to full health at all besides maxim tomatoes. Keep in mind that Void Termina's first and third forms are like NOVA and Kabula, in that you must attack him yourself.

Phan Phan works because if Phan Phan is at the side of the arena, he's too far from the other side of the arena and the helper doesn't get throw onto the wall, he touches the ground before touching the wall and avoid all the damage. I found out by getting thrown myself as Kirby. Nothing's offscreen here.

Hammer was the only ability that helped me get through the true arena (not CPU). I also realized that because of the fact that’s it’s so powerful, they intentionally don’t give you access to it until the very end of revenge of the king.
I really like that detail. It makes the one you get during the Masked Dedede battle that much more special.

Part of the problem with the helper is that it's probably programmed not to be TOO aggro, so that it doesn't go destroying every enemy that Kirby might want to suck up for a power. It likely isn't made to recognize that bosses should be an exception to this.

Bosses have extra help if you have a helper so adding the bonkers to each fight or any helper for that matter is harder than having that same ai somehow able to control kirby if you think about it
both bonkers and bugzzy had their hitboxes reduced so they wouldn't be stuck in one tile tall spaces, hence why he doesn't get hit by the combo cannon laser
also, when you're really far from the other side when phan-phan throws you, you hit the ground before you hit the wall
