    It's amazing how a 100 dollar amp can have an HDMI and yet something 20 or 50 times the price doesn't.

      @MattCoykendall1  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Agreed, at this point manufacturers need to add this.

      @@MattCoykendall1 Just saw a review of a Hagel 400 and no HDMI.

      Just couldn’t afford to include it at 7000 dollars haha

      @@Roof_Pizza maybe the point of the Hegel is not sound bar replacement :p

      It’s not, but at 7000 dollars should we not expect connections to modern equipment also? I get the Hegel product line but at its price point it should be there and to prove this point Hegel specifically say they added the ability for it to be programmed to accept infrared control signals from an existing TV remote wand…just add hdmi.

    Really cool little amp actually. Kind of a passive sub amp with benefits 😂
    But seriously, looking at something like this to enhance our living room entertainment. A couple of decent bookies and one of those veri-fi audio subs (really good cheap subs with a high level input) Thank you for looking into these solutions! 🙏🏼

    Matt, Great rundown as usual. This looks very similar to the Aiyima B01 but with an added High Pass. Nice feature to have on these small amps. My guess is the sub volume is probably "S-99", not 599. Keep up the good work.

    • @MattCoykendall1
      @MattCoykendall1  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yep it’s S99 like you said, I try to get through as many products as I can while still trying to catch all the details during testing, I missed that originally when I filmed.

    10:00 It’s not 599, it’s S99. As in subwoofer 00-99, I assume as a percentage of the main volume setting.

    Looks cool for the money and beyond. Speaker level is the better way to connect active sub too anyway, so even better it has separate terminals.

    • @MattCoykendall1
      @MattCoykendall1  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The problem is not too many subs offer it these days, but certainly doable if you look around. I have a couple with speaker level inputs.

    Firecube turns it off and on in my case with TV but like you the TV itself doesn't control it.

    19:30 ... not "599" ... "S 99" ... S for subwoofer.
    Also ... turn the filters off and use the third amp for a centre speaker ... tap the third amp to your powered subwoofer and set it up using controls on the sub woofer.

    • @MattCoykendall1
      @MattCoykendall1  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well I mean it’s still a 5, also the default base volume is 99. Your only real option of adjustment is down in this case. You also would need to likely db match the 3rd channel if you used this for a center as it’s on its own amp chip. My preference would be to use the sub, utilize a phantom center.

      Love the FunFi even if it is maddening they put passive sub out instead of sub out RCA. That with the HDMI would have made it a winner rather than a meh?

    • @MattCoykendall1
      @MattCoykendall1  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yeah, this one has its place but could have been to a wider audience with a couple tweaks.

      I doubt you'd want to run the centre channel very loudly. It would likely end up being turned down a fair bit... but yes, matched is better.

    • @ericboehm4529
      @ericboehm4529 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Remember too that it’s not a center channel exactly but simply the right and left summed to mono. That’s really going to do nothing but blur your stereo image.

    10:00 are you sure that's not "S99", for sub-volume 99? EDIT: to explain: it's only a 7-segment LED display, it can't show every alphanumeric.

    Pass. A consumer audio device that is unintuitive and doesn’t have clear usage instructions is deplorable. I have an smsl su-1 dac and it’s UI is bone simple. Looks like everything else they make isn’t well thought out.

      @Douglas_Blake_579 25 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      The external bricks have 2 very strong advantages.
      First they are regulated voltages. No power supply sag at high volumes.
      Second, moving the noisy SMPS out of the amplifier casing makes for a much quieter amplifier.
