    This is something that people don’t focus on in their videos like they should. Much respect ✊🏽

    Thanks for the video! Very informative. Do you think you could do a video on using darter heads or scrounger heads for Flukes? Thanks!

    I was hoping to see your take more on the bend styles.,.. round bend vs sproat or O'Shaughnessy bend. Without being able to see well... I know that a couple of the specialty hooks that you alluded to, are sproat bend. In most of the g finesse and G Power hooks that Aaron Martens had a hand in designing, are sproat or modified sproat. I am a huge advocate of the sproat hook, and feel that even most Pros don't give them much thought. Most site a smaller gap, but that is an optical illusion. Even for jig hooks, companies make very few choices. I have been making my own compact finesse jigs for 30 years, and have bent a Gamakatsu sproat worm hook to work. ,. I have never lost a fish! Your opinions ?

    Great topic, but it's kinda hard to see the hooks with your body in the background. Merry Christmas!

    Big ribbon tail on a weighted swim bait hook? I like the way you think. Never thought of that

    Hey Gene if you use the keel weighted swim bait hooks without the screw lock just feed the point in to make a hole then put the eyelet through that hole and then you can rig it normal. This way you don't feed the weight through the plastic. Been doing it this year and it's made my easy swimmers last much longer than the screw locks.
    Also you are the best you tuber, love the videos, feels like Christmas each time I get the notification you released one. Have a great Christmas!!!

      Hey Dan: Good point, the keel weighted EWG hooks work well for swim baits (but do need to retie each time your swim bait gets torn off)

    You mention you had some rusty hooks, what do you do once they rust or begin to rust? Are they still good to use or garbage? Can be cleaned and reused?
    Thanks for all the info in your videos this year! 👍🏻

    Gene like get your thoughts on this? I use snap swivels for alot of quick changes on crankbaits and etc. Just to save time. I've always felt these swivels are light weight and I'm scared if i hook a big bass he is either gonna break it or stright it out what is your thought on this? Or shiuld i just take extra time to tie on stright to the lure?

    • @dave-hc2vi
      @dave-hc2vi 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      IMO it's well worth the time to tie on straight to the lure. Aside from any strength issues with the swivel, they can hurt the action of baits.

    Don’t mean to be critical but it was hard to see the hooks on this video because you were wearing a very dark PFF and it blended in with it just a fact to point out for future

    First time I gave a thumbs down on one of your vids. I cannot see what your are trying to demonstrate. You need to do this on a table or against a background where the detail you are trying to show is clear.
