    Lol...I can relate! We would drive 6 hours to our spot in Eastern Wa. and hunt for a week. Hike for miles and see does and two pointers all week and come home with nothing,well maybe a grouse or coyote. BUT the time spent there in that area will always be a joy to my heart and amazing memories that I wouldn't trade for anything. The most important part for me was believing that all I saw was created by God for me to enjoy and I did and still do. Because it's He (the Lord) that should get our praise for ALL He has made. Appreciate you and your videos!!

    The branch impact of the bullet just prior to hitting the bear was a good catch while editing. I have fouled a shot exactly the same way by hitting a branch between me and the animal. I came up with a way to help avoid it which may have been useful in this case with your bear- When setting your parallax for the shot I think most people just quickly (myself too at one time) get the focus perfect on their animal and then move on to the rest of their shot process. If you focus in and out a little bit with the parallax adjustment sometimes a branch or grass between you and the target comes into focus when it would otherwise "disappear" if just fine focused/parallax set for the target distance. This technique has bailed me out a few times over the years. Incredible content. Keep up the great work

    If you can afford kennetrek boots. I highly recommend them I have been wearing my pair for 7 years now and love them. They are very comfortable. I have the Mountain extreme one pair in none insulated and a pair in 400 Insulated. I use the none Insulated in weather down to 20° and the 400 Insulated on everything else. I can't say enough about the boots I think they are the best boots out there.

    • @SammyMoore-tg5gs
      @SammyMoore-tg5gs หลายเดือนก่อน

      He wears Crispis. Once you’re shopping in this higher quality level, the fit of the shape of the boot is much more important than the brand name. If Crispis fit better, wear those. If Kennetreks fit better, wear those.

      It’s illegal cuz you dont possess the animal . They need a better system. Alberta has a tag system that works good. Green tag that ya put in the animal when harvested

    • @sav300
      @sav300 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@elksplosive2214 that’s interesting. I know there are plenty of people that shoot an animal, can’t find, go kill another the next day. For harvest data that adds up quickly and it would make sense to include that and allow people to report that. I report it on my mandatory reporting when I’ve lost an animal.

      @elksplosive2214 ปีที่แล้ว

      Was a pass through. Them guns are fast . Likely made a small hole and didn’t do the damage cuz of it being a non lethal shot. It’s common with the guns that don’t have that heavy hitting power

    • @SammyMoore-tg5gs
      @SammyMoore-tg5gs หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@elksplosive2214what an unappetizing word salad your comment is. As far as rifle cartridges go, the 6.5 creedmoor is a modest velocity cartridge, leaving the muzzle at around 2700 fps. Bullet construction determines penetration, not caliber. He’s shooting 130 grain Nosler Accubonds, which are a chemically bonded bullet that should penetrate and expand just fine. The issue was the bullet striking the tree branch several yards in front of the bear, not the cartridge and not the bullet

    I unfortunately know the exact feeling you felt when you couldn't find your black bear. I was unable to track down my mule deer buck that I shot this year. We found blood, and it looked bright red and could even see bubbles, which made me think it was a lung shot. But it might have just been a one lung hit, because the deer was slightly quartering away and the shot angle was uphill at 9 degrees according to the range finder. We grid searched too, to no avail. It was a sickening feeling. I also notched my tag. Knowing that buck was more than likely dead somewhere made me feel like I couldn't justify taking another.

      Perhaps Samong will see your comment and mix it up with "bowl" or "cirque" or, for the really shallow ones "swale" in future videos. Mountainous terrain features actually have a lot of specialized terminology attached, much of it is foreign language in origin, as they are used by Alpinist climbers. But few of us hunters have any real need to know terms such as "serac" or "col" to communicate our observation and intent to each other. "Watch out for that big chunk of ice." or "Careful crossing that saddle" will usually suffice. 😁
      EDIT: Oh, I forgot "couloir" (actually, could not remember how to spell it 😆and it's tough for a Yank like me to pronounce properly). I'd just say: "That chute looks like our best route through the cliffs so we can get up to that hanging basin!"
