Heres my testimony. Before Christ found me i suffered from drug addiction and could not stop breaking the law. I ended up in state prison at age 20. I piccked up the Bible and cried out to Jesus for help. Since then i have accomplished more than i could imagine with His help. I was released from prison 6 months ago, today i attend church 3 times a week, read my Bible each night, have positive people in my life, i am finally the father my daughter needed, have a good job, just bought a car, and am happy. This is the power of Jesus. Hallelujah

I wanted to end my life cause I felt like I wasn’t good enough for anyone in this world. I’ve been through so much pain and I kept it inside cause nobody would’ve understood what I was feeling. Just a year ago I lost my sister due to suicide and that made me more empty inside. Jesus found me and I’ve been going to church, reading the Bible, and even got baptized this last Sunday. when my mum was pregnant for me, the doctor told her I wouldn't survive. I was born premature, my mother died; just as she was being taken to the morgue, she came back to life, because of the prayers of her and my dad, with some couple of people. I'm turning 24 this year, and my mother turned 50 this year. We face a lot of challenges, but God always pulls us through 🙏🙏🙏

My sister, who passed away on November 25, 2023, introduced me to this group and this song. She was 39 when she passed from colorectal cancer. She played this song a lot. Today I sat for the first time and read all the words. I knew she was going through a lot but didn't want to open up. I had two months with her before she past and will always remember her sweet smile and her love for God. 9 years ago I was suicidal because of depression due to being victim of sexual abuse... I was raised Catholic but was agnostic back then. I was angry with God, ready to take my life that same day... I asked myself, "then if you exist why? Why should I stay? Give me one f reason!" And as suddenly as I said that, as angry and lost as I was, a girl crying came running and I intercepted her and hugged her. Without realizing I told her "everything is going to be alright, I am here, I will be here". He answered me, he saved me, he gave me life and made me realize the beauty in this world... Now, 9 years after, I am so thankful for life, so thankful for Him... he is the only one who will know me, and that's ok for me, because He is all that I need... He is my everything

@JH I'm sure most people dealing w depression, anxiety r well aware that Scripture, music r adjuncts to medical treatment. "Music calms the savage beast" & Christian music works on a physiological & spiritual level. We r communing w God. Our brain releases lots of good stuff. To a Christian, anyway, we need to "feed" the spiritual soul or our faith, enthusiasm really weakens. We feel God anoints these songs. Our physical body reacts most favorably, also!
@JH OMG!! Didnt i say listening to Christian music or Scripture is an adjunct to MEDS. Often, meds get us to a point where we CAN appreciate God's anointed & uplifting music. I have had depression, anxiety, OCD following a postnatal depression. I attempted suicide once & have had the ideation sometimes, but never to that point. Psych meds helped me immensely. Christian music helps me spiritually. If we can stay strong & joyous by Christian music & worship, I feel, w r less "suseptible" to effects of depression, etc. I am terribly sorry for ur loss, but u've obviously misread my comment.Only a Christian can really understand this. If ur not born again, u do not have God's Holy Spirit in ur soul. That is the agent in our hearts & minds that recognize the Spirit in whatever form. i realize u may not "get this" but i cant help that. Peace.
After two mental hospitals, 6 different kinds of anti-depressants, one hospitalization for being suicidal, and three years of starving myself and binging and purging every time I was home alone, the storm is finally over. I've finally found God and realized that I *don't have to go through this alone.* He is here. He loves me. And he loves you. Don't ever stop fighting. It really, really does get better.

I'm in pain but people expect me to be happy all the time. They expect me to be happy since I'm the youngest in my family, I got things easier. But I still feel the pain I had as a child, up till now. It still hurts and I'm scared to tell anyone about it. I feel broken and lonely. My family had problems, so I could not see my cousins and other relatives. Having a family feels like knowing which people are genetically related to you. A family to me is not what most people I meet describe.

One day of co-worker asked me why I know everyone at work? I told them I was tormented growing up, bullied and isolated by my peers I promised myself if I ever saw someone eating alone I would introduce myself. I know how it feels to be lonely and physically feel my heart break from loneliness. It could break persons heart. I hate it. Now I have a lot of friends at church and at work. I guess it pays to be a good person.

I really like this song but I always watched a lyric video so I could sing along, I just watched this one and it did make me tear up. There's so much pain in the world that we don't know about. If only we could reach out to those that need a shoulder to cry on.
Hello, this is Donald. I agree people need a shoulder to cry on. I want to provide people positive things that will help them when they're in pain. The Bible and good Christian music are two of these things. I really wonder if people realize how many stations play good Christian music. As I said, I fully understand people sometimes need a shoulder to cry on. I am one of those people. My wife died in December of 2016. She died on a Saturday. I am trying to tell people about Christian music and the book of Psalms which is so beautiful and practical for hard times. Well, I guess I've made a long speech. But those are my thoughts.
I don't ever write TH-cam comments. This song, though, resignates so much with me. I struggle to open up to anyone. Everything just gets bottled up until I feel broken. God only knows that, and He's the only one who has never broken my heart. He puts it back together piece by piece.
"God only knows hows its killing you"- No one will truly understand how it affects you, life i mean, no one will ever know how its killing you, how its hurting you. But God knows, he will be there for you. He WILL be there. He loves you, dont give up yet.

My son is in trouble...his wife is leaving him...they have 4 kids that he cannot live without...I'm sending him the song because nothing I say is the right thing...this song says it all...
It's funny you say that, so lets say someone is on a deserted island since he was born, his parents dead. No outside contact besides him and the occational animal. When he dies, does he go straight to Hell? I mean, he didn't even know what religion was, because no one was there to teach him.
The Christian Religion is flawed in the sense that anyone can go to Heaven, and it creates a loophole that people that kill, persecute, rape, murder, torture, can get to Heaven if they repent just before they die. How is that fair to those who live a good life, help others, and care for the planet, and just because they don't believe they go straight to the gates of Hell?

Which if you genuinely believe that, then you have very little understanding on how Christianity works. Just saying the right words and acting the right way is meaningless if you heart isn’t actually different.

I’m finally getting more help because before I thought it was just depression but when someone who is bipolar who’s on anti depression meds - it actually doesn’t work or makes it worse. I lived a godless life since I was about 8 years old. I'm 31 now. Lived with depression and anxiety my whole life attempted to end my life 3 times, first was hanging from a belt and the leather tore in half when I was just 15, and the other 2 were with a gun to my head in my first year of marriage 7 years ago. Both times the bullet was a dud. Lived in anger with my life every day. I have 3 daughters and still married but I was a terrible husband and father and only in the last year I found god through music like this. I'm now a vocalist at my church and I live every day with Jesus in my heart. I no longer take depression meds and no longer have suicidal thoughts. And every day I live to be better than I was before. God has healed me in so many ways. Even healed what should have been a permanent spinal injury overnight from a single prayer and I wouldn't be here today if not for HIM. Praise the lord in everything!!!! He loves us all unconditionally!!!

Heres my testimony. Before Christ found me i suffered from drug addiction and could not stop breaking the law. I ended up in state prison at age 20. I piccked up the Bible and cried out to Jesus for help. Since then i have accomplished more than i could imagine with His help. I was released from prison 6 months ago, today i attend church 3 times a week, read my Bible each night, have positive people in my life, i am finally the father my daughter needed, have a good job, just bought a car, and am happy. This is the power of Jesus. Hallelujah

My sister, who passed away on November 25, 2023, introduced me to this group and this song. She was 39 when she passed from colorectal cancer. She played this song a lot. Today I sat for the first time and read all the words. I knew she was going through a lot but didn't want to open up. I had two months with her before she past and will always remember her sweet smile and her love for God. He helped her through all the pain even before her cancer and called her to him for eternal peace. Can't wait until we meet again. RIP Tina.

9 years ago I was suicidal because of depression due to being victim of sexual abuse... I was raised Catholic but was agnostic back then. I was angry with God, ready to take my life that same day... I asked myself, "then if you exist why? Why should I stay? Give me one f reason!" And as suddenly as I said that, as angry and lost as I was, a girl crying came running and I intercepted her and hugged her. Without realizing I told her "everything is going to be alright, I am here, I will be here". He answered me, he saved me, he gave me life and made me realize the beauty in this world... Now, 9 years after, I am so thankful for life, so thankful for Him... he is the only one who will know me, and that's ok for me, because He is all that I need... He is my everything

"Music calms the savage beast" & Christian music works on a physiological & spiritual level. We r communing w God. Our brain releases lots of good stuff. To a Christian, anyway, we need to "feed" the spiritual soul or our faith, enthusiasm really weakens. We feel God anoints these songs. Our physical body reacts most favorably, also!
@JH OMG!! Didnt i say listening to Christian music or Scripture is an adjunct to MEDS. Often, meds get us to a point where we CAN appreciate God's anointed & uplifting music. I have had depression, anxiety, OCD following a postnatal depression. I attempted suicide once & have had the ideation sometimes, but never to that point. Psych meds helped me immensely. Christian music helps me spiritually. If we can stay strong & joyous by Christian music & worship, I feel, w r less "suseptible" to effects of depression, etc. I am terribly sorry for ur loss, but u've obviously misread my comment.Only a Christian can really understand this. If ur not born again, u do not have God's Holy Spirit in ur soul. One night I couldn’t sleep. My eyes were full of tears and my mind was telling me to end it all. Then I remembered God’s love for me. Now every night I lie awake at night having a deep conversation with God. And I believe he can hear me, but even though I can’t hear a single word he says it’s as if I can understand him. Now my life is at its finest. I got a puppy, I’m an older sister to two little monkeys and my mum is expecting. I’ve been getting better in school and I’m moving in December to a nice farm.

The Christian Religion is flawed in the sense that anyone can go to Heaven, and it creates a loophole that people that kill, persecute, rape, murder, torture, can get to Heaven if they repent just before they die. How is that fair to those who live a good life, help others, and care for the planet, and just because they don't believe they go straight to the gates of Hell?
Gaius Julius Caesar you make it seem like you can just say the words “I repent of my sins” and that’s that. Which if you genuinely believe that, then you have very little understanding on how Christianity works. Just saying the right words and acting the right way is meaningless if you heart isn’t actually different.

I lived a godless life since I was about 8 years old. I'm 31 now. Lived with depression and anxiety my whole life attempted to end my life 3 times, first was hanging from a belt and the leather tore in half when I was just 15, and the other 2 were with a gun to my head in my first year of marriage 7 years ago. Both times the bullet was a dud. Lived in anger with my life every day. I have 3 daughters and still married but I was a terrible husband and father and only in the last year I found god through music like this. I'm now a vocalist at my church and I live every day with Jesus in my heart. I no longer take depression meds and no longer have suicidal thoughts. And every day I live to be better than I was before. God has healed me in so many ways. Even healed what should have been a permanent spinal injury overnight from a single prayer and I wouldn't be here today if not for HIM. Praise the lord in everything!!!!
