The boys gotta make their money somehow so the sponsor ads are fair enough, and I'm sure the new viewers appreciate the hoonicorn breakdown each episode, but that's why I do these timestamps now! I've watched every episode and end up skipping through myself, so figured I'd just save other dedicated viewers like myself some time in the process :)
she should honestly be careful about dumping torque between shifts, that's where all the tire temp is coming from. It's quick but it's also the same thing that snapped the shaft in an earlier ep. its good that she can keep it open, but damn it is sketchy.
@@procerus3654 the hoonicorn is really well setup for specifically what they are doing, at least this time most cars are losing due to traction. Last season they kept putting heavier cars with way less power against the hoonicorn and acted like they had a chance
Block Jr. is spectacular in handling the Hoonicorn for her age but she's far too green in terms of reaction. She'll get there with experience but at the moment she mostly tries to go by rhythm. Once in a while she gets it dead on but more often she jumps. I always find it amusing when they start going on about her reaction time especially when she jumped. She deserves heaps of praise, just not for that.

If you know what your doing and respect the car, sw20s are a pleasure to drive and surprisingly easy to push towards their limits. If you don’t know how weight balance in a mid engine car works it’ll definitely spit you out into a tree though.

@@dougn6465 That’s kinda the point. The Hoonicorn has more torque at lower RPMs despite having somewhat close peak HP numbers to the mr2. which was one of the contributing factors that led to its victory.

Yeah, I don't see anything really being competitive that's not 4wd on that track. Hoonicorn would probably break a ton of stuff if they used prep though.

@@N4CR They’ve raced both the rs3 and the kimbo slice gtr which is the only same horsepower awd cars they’ve raced, and both of them smoked the hoonicorn. Seems like this is their way of proving a point that last season they were racing against sub 1000 hp cars and now they just go and pick big hp number cars that obviously will lose on unprep surface. I mean they can at least run no prep cars that are rwd like beater bomb and the other no prep kings to prove their point
@@joejacobsen6822, What has he got sponsored for on the MR2?. Anderson has hooked them up with a Fueltech. Hux racing supplied Him a set of motor mounts. He paid JBR for the engine. He purchased the parts and built the transmission himself. There might be some other little things that he has got sponsored or at cost, but most of the build is paid for by Kyle.
I didn’t realize how light the mr2 is. The power to weight ratio is insane I can’t believe it’s only about 2300 pounds. That’s super light for 1300hp at the crank.
All you hear from the MR2 is the tractioncontrol, and the Hoonicorn just putting it down on a way more clean surface!! At no time this was a clean race.... I would love to see those cars both on a real dragstrip.... I think the outcome would be very different.... Nice though seeing a 14 year old kid rip 1400Hp like that!!!
Hoonicorn would break on prepped surface.remember lia already broke shafts on this surface, imagine the stress on a prepped surface that can make the mr2 wheelie
Either that MR2 is hurt or they turned it waaaayyy down for the unprepped surface. Hoonicorn was pulling at every point during the race, even on the top when you would expect the MR2 to have an advantage.
Even if the MR2 wasn’t turned down they’re going to be decently close on top end and the Hoonicorn is getting out of the hole so much better it’s just going to carry all that extra speed the whole way down the track. The bigger engine makes more power overall even if the peak numbers are close.

It's cause they're on a no prep surface, the only people that race no prep are street racers and they don't want their builds and faces all over the internet. There's really not much competition for the hoonicorn on this track unless you want them to keep bringing on GTRs lol
The MR2 on a track would have a chance. AWD on a no prep that they have driven on for 2 seasons isn't exactly a fair race from the get go seeing how Kyle literally got 3 test passes and when he asked about a water box to at least do a burnout to heat the tires he was told no.
Very proud of these young gentlemen. I haven't even watched the video yet, but they've come so far and they are absolutely dedicated. Merry Christmas to the whole hoonigan team and the boosted boys family much love from Arizona.
While the first season it didn't seem like they were even trying to get good matches I do sympathize that the kinds of cars/owners that are making the power to run with the hoonicorn AND willing to come to Cali AND willing to race on a sketchy airport runway are probably very slim

13:07 That is a ridiculously quick accelerating car. Amazing what 2000hp can do. 7 sec car never had a chance on an unprepped surface against an AWD. Also nice when a car has basically no expense spared on it. MR2 is amazing, but that was built with a mere mortals wallet.
This was great fun for all of us who followed Kyle since he was making ebay power in a clapped out hatch. You have come a long way and acted like a true sport today. Lia is an animal in the Hoonicorn. Reaction time is flawless. See stays in it and drives when it lacks traction. And the best donuts on TH-cam. She has a bright future in this sport.
Ken has the good sense to respect a well built car when he sees it. C'mon....a 4 cylinder making over a thousand and not on nitrous. Respect for sure. And Lia... I want to see her taking Drivers Ed in school. Sure to be a few interesting moments there. Especially if she can drive Dadd'ys car. LOL

So SXSBlog’s 2JP was heads up and lost by half a car in the second. Don’t know why they didn’t give them a 3rd bonus race. They would have been hood to hood on that bonus race. The RZR gave the Hoonicorn the best run yet.
Alright just gonna call it. Sandbagging or the Hoonicorn makes more power than y'all proclaim. At this point, just give us a LEGIT dyno run or two different dynos and I only say that because all dynos don't read the same.
Yea I'm getting anooyed with these videos evey damn time they line something up and give the numbers out it doesn't add up. Using the power to weight ratio calculator in this video the mr2 should have pulled on the top end insanely hard vs the hoonicorn once hooked. They aren't stating the real numbers this car is making realistally like 1700awhp. I don't get why they are doing this .. it's really unfair to claim your making 1400awhp then crank it up to nearly 2k awhp and then the other car comes prepped to race something that's not even close to what they expect. Super unfair hoonigan Dyno this car on the tune it was in this video. It was def not making 1400 like it's got a scramble boost button or something

If you think they are going to give you fair races.. yeah nope. Almost everything is a rwd street car vs tube chassis 4wd race car. The fact hat some come close is enough to impress me. The hoonicorn isn't impressive, it's a race car that is good for one thing, racing unprepped straight lines. Take it on a hill climb vs real race cars and it'll break and or get smoked at the corners due to shit aero.

The hoonicorn is set up to win. A full day of testing against kyles three test passes. MR2 was at 30 psi so I’m guessing about 6-700 hp? There’s no doubting that mustang is stupid fast though. The AWD definitely helps 🙂
Next season it needs to be on a drag strip. Internet quotes hoonicorn at 9.9 1/4 mile which is sandbagged a lot as it runs much faster when they think they have a harder opponent
Two things: 1: Put the car on a fucking drag strip if you're going to race actual drag cars. 2: be upfront about the real hp, sxsblog said this car puts out 2000 hp at the push of a button.
yeah they are capping about the horsepower, its got boost by gear or a scramble. Either way its making 1600+ at the top, watching the plaid race it proves its faster than they say or have dynod
@@rhett7716 plaid had lot of grip its nearly a hoonicorn heavier, plus vastly superior TC. The plaid shows how slow the hoonicorn is, it's barely an 8s car.

We need a vehicle that beats every stats of the hoonicorn (with methanol injection), to avenge all the other cars that has been defeated against the hoonicorn, and ALSO a prep track.

The key here is banging thru the gears and NOT trying to stretch out the gears/ over revving the engine where horse power actually drops off the power curve.

Well he was lightweight rwd on an unknown surface and she was in 1400hp awd sequential on proxes toyos which are advertised as “the stickiest of the icky” so….. Maybe if it was on an actual drag strip the mr2 would actually hook and it would be a good race. But we all know that will never happen lmao
The mr2 itself has already won. It fought against a car with literally twice the engine (8 cil bi-turbo vs 4 cil single turbo) and twice the traction (awd vs 4x2).

@@dlg78 nops. Because the power is only a peak. Isn't a constant. Compare a naturally aspirated 4cil engine of 200hp with a 4 cil turbo engine of 200hp and a electric car of 200hp. All cars with the same weight, type of traction and tires. Put all in the drag strip. The flat torque of electric car put all cars behind with a larger advantage. In second the turbo, with torque coming in the low rpm. In third the naturally aspirated. Power is not a comparison unit.
@@TheOzBR no, they won't. The only torque that matters is torque above the gear shift point. Go and drag 3 of the same power vehicles, and you'll have near identical trap speeds. In fact ironically a 200hp n/a vehicle will be revving much higher than a Turbo 200, and hence can then take advantage of shorter gearing and improve acceleration. You're not a low rpm when drag racing, your car will most likely never be below 4000rpm.
This would have been a lot closer race if they were on a normal drag racing strip. The only thing that I can think of to consistently beat the hoonicorn is a stripped/lightened Tesla Plaid. The hoonicorn is just perfect for this track.

Seems like this is their way of proving a point that last season they were racing against sub 1000 hp cars and now they just go and pick big hp number cars that obviously will lose on unprep surface. I mean they can at least run no prep cars that are rwd like beater bomb and the other no prep kings to prove their point

He purchased the parts and built the transmission himself. There might be some other little things that he has got sponsored or at cost, but most of the build is paid for by Kyle.

It's cause they're on a no prep surface, the only people that race no prep are street racers and they don't want their builds and faces all over the internet. There's really not much competition for the hoonicorn on this track unless you want them to keep bringing on GTRs lol

The MR2 on a track would have a chance. AWD on a no prep that they have driven on for 2 seasons isn't exactly a fair race from the get go seeing how Kyle literally got 3 test passes and when he asked about a water box to at least do a burnout to heat the tires he was told no.

yeah, it gets old quite fast when they mostly get cars that cant stand a chance on regular roads.
While the first season it didn't seem like they were even trying to get good matches I do sympathize that the kinds of cars/owners that are making the power to run with the hoonicorn AND willing to come to Cali AND willing to race on a sketchy airport runway are probably very slim

So SXSBlog’s 2JP was heads up and lost by half a car in the second. Don’t know why they didn’t give them a 3rd bonus race. They would have been hood to hood on that bonus race. The RZR gave the Hoonicorn the best run yet.

Yea I'm getting anooyed with these videos evey damn time they line something up and give the numbers out it doesn't add up. Using the power to weight ratio calculator in this video the mr2 should have pulled on the top end insanely hard vs the hoonicorn once hooked. They aren't stating the real numbers this car is making realistally like 1700awhp. I don't get why they are doing this .. it's really unfair to claim your making 1400awhp then crank it up to nearly 2k awhp and then the other car comes prepped to race something that's not even close to what they expect. Super unfair hoonigan Dyno this car on the tune it was in this video. It was def not making 1400 like it's got a scramble boost button or something

The hoonicorn is set up to win. A full day of testing against kyles three test passes. MR2 was at 30 psi so I’m guessing about 6-700 hp? There’s no doubting that mustang is stupid fast though. The AWD definitely helps 🙂

Next season it needs to be on a drag strip. Internet quotes hoonicorn at 9.9 1/4 mile which is sandbagged a lot as it runs much faster when they think they have a harder opponent

It fought against a car with literally twice the engine (8 cil bi-turbo vs 4 cil single turbo) and twice the traction (awd vs 4x2).
It doesn't work like that. The things you listed, is why the mustang is faster.

@@dlg78 nops. Because the power is only a peak. Isn't a constant. Compare a naturally aspirated 4cil engine of 200hp with a 4 cil turbo engine of 200hp and a electric car of 200hp. All cars with the same weight, type of traction and tires.
Put all in the drag strip.
The flat torque of electric car put all cars behind with a larger advantage.
In second the turbo, with torque coming in the low rpm.
In third the naturally aspirated.
Power is not a comparison unit.

The only torque that matters is torque above the gear shift point.
Go and drag 3 of the same power vehicles, and you'll have near identical trap speeds.
In fact ironically a 200hp n/a vehicle will be revving much higher than a Turbo 200, and hence can then take advantage of shorter gearing and improve acceleration.
You're not a low rpm when drag racing, your car will most likely never be below 4000rpm.
The MR2, aka the CYCLOPS
This would have been a lot closer race if they were on a normal drag racing strip. The only thing that I can think of to consistently beat the hoonicorn is a stripped/lightened Tesla Plaid. The hoonicorn is just perfect for this track.
