    Vlog 59
We left Taveuni today and got on a small ferry. The ferry ( That used to be a dive boat) transported us across the SomoSomo Strait to Vanua Levu. Our resort had a taxi waiting for us at the harbor. It was an awesome pickup truck. Most of the taxis in Fiji have this plastic lining on their seats just in case your wet you can still get a ride. There's no way an uber or taxi in the USA would allow you to ride if you were drenched. It was nice to be in a truck because the road to Savusavu was pretty bumpy. Our resort for the next two nights was the Koro Sun.
Koro Sun Resort is situated on a shallow bay and features amazing over the water bungalows, Garden Bures/villas and one particularly awesome light house villa. When we first arrived at the Koro Sun the continental breakfast was still being served. The breakfast consisted of delicious pastries, toast and some other nice items including deli meats to make sandwiches with. if you are feeling like a fancier breakfast they have a menu you can special order drinks, omelets and complete meals from (at additional charge). After breakfast we hung out in the lobby area while they made our room ready. I walked around Vlogging for a little bit capturing some of the features of the resort. The lobby has great wifi and day beds to catch up on social media or send emails.
Were still not one hundred percent sure what happened but Koro Sun upgraded us to The Light House Villa when we had only booked a Garden Bure. The Light House Villa is an off resort villa with its own gate. You walk down the street a little bit and are greeted by a large double door gate. As I entered the courtyard I couldn't help being excited that we had access to such a cool house for the next two days! The bottom floor of the villa is the kitchen with a cool corner bathroom. Right by the front door is a Curved stair case that takes you to the top floor/ master bedroom. The master bedroom features a huge king sized bed and an awesome bathroom complete with an outdoor shower. Heading back down stairs you can exit out the back door located in the kitchen area to find your own circular pool with a large patio surrounding it. There is also a deck made for two to watch the sunset over the bay or just relax. the whole compound is circular including the house. most of the walls (if not all of them) are curved making a truly unique experience.
After settling in to our accommodations Michelle and I dawned our bathing suits and grabbed our snorkeling gear. We headed back to the main resort and fell into the warm bay the resort is located on. We were surprised at how warm it was, in some places my watch said 89 degrees. The bay was like bath water. The coral was fairly spread out compared to the last place we were staying. The coral also had some of its own challenges because of the shallow water and temperature a fair amount of it was struggling. Not to worry if you swim out a little ways from shore until the water became a little deeper and cooler the coral was doing much better. Michelle and I spent a long time swimming amongst the bright green grasses and vibrant corals we found lots of fish and one funny looking eel.
After our Afternoon snorkel we went to the adults only pool and had a late lunch/ earlier dinner. Michelle had some Fijian nachos and I of corse had a burger! We had some pool drinks wile talking with another couple. as the sun started to go down I raced back to our villa to fly my drone. it was cool to be able to take off from the secluded patio of the light house back yard.
    Thank you for Watching!

Bula! We were on the same ferry, in the same hotel, and same room back in October. Unfortunately the hotel was out of power on that side of the road but we could still enjoy the restaurant and lobby. The snorkeling and watching black tip sharks right off our own deck was a lot of fun. Gotta love Fiji, thanks for sharing!
