I HOPE
A long time ago, I translated this song! It was around the time Kyogen first came out, and if you look hard enough, the translation can still be found:3
Of course, the further I got in this whole "Translation Attempt/英訳にしてみた" style of videos, something in me changed. That being my satisfaction with some of my old stuff.
My old translation of Lucky Brute was marred by words that felt...too literal, honestly. (And that goes for MOST translations I've seen of this song. Those "TARATARA"s may be scatting in some fashion, but they have actual meaning, dang it!) And for what I was trying to do, I felt that wouldn't help people understand what I felt the song was saying (Whether that matches the actual story of the song is an entirely different matter. I CAN ONLY HOPE IT DOES)
A few months ago, someone came up to me and was said: "Hey, do you mind if I alter your translation for a cover I want to do? I'll give you credit" to which I said...

Nothing! I didn't say anything. Don't alter other people's stuff, whether it be writing, translation, art. Just don't do it. It's rude. Make your own stuff:3
But it got me thinking, since the old translation is my most viewed video, why don't I give this one another shot at the Englishification (Is that even a word?) and show the world what I've learned in the year I've been doing this whole thing!
Thus, 5 days have passed since that thought and...well, this is certainly a thing! I would say enjoy, if applicable, but now I'm just jittery! Like a jitterbug!
