And it’s boring and disheartening.At the higher levels there is no depth to the melee combat it’s just a jab vanish battle until somebody gets the super counter off and now it’s a Z counter battle until somebody runs out of meter rinse and repeat until somebody dies or gets instant sparking/full power off into ultimate. Basically all my time in the lab learning the combo paths is utterly useless since a super counter is possible at practically any point during melee with very few exceptions
I’m gonna talk about the meta in my next upcoming video, but yeah, it’s why having more Ki than your opponent is so important in this game. Because you shouldn’t really extend your combos if you have less Ki than the opponent, as you’ll just straight up lose the vanish war afterward. Having said that, afterimage strike is the wave against Unblockable cheese.
It's really really lame. Super counters are awwwwful in this game. Making them cost something or replacing them with back-OK revenge counters (and making revenge counters a bit harder to react to...) would be better I think.
You can’t just fake chain them into an Ultimate attack ? If you Z rush into a stun and knock back you can go directly into an ultimate at close range, I just call it a fake chain because it isn’t a true combo but at close range it’s harder to react to Can they perception or Z counter out of that as well ?
Do you mean when characters go for the gut punch and the opponent is stunned? If that's the case, then they can vanish the ultimate to avoid getting hit. They can't perception it tho. (Not sure what you mean by Z rush tho, my apologies)
@ I’m probably getting the terms mixed up, my apologies. It’s when you power up and double tap dash to zoom behind them. If you’re quick enough you can (super dash ?) into a combo + ultimate but I’m asking if it can get Z countered if they’re already in the string You answered my question though, thank you 🙏
