    Another good trick I saw is a method to ensure that your reverb doesn't wash out the vocals. You sidechain the wet vocal signal with the dry vocal signal. What this does is when the dry vocal is playing it compresses the reverb, but as the dry vocal fades out, the reverb volume increases. This makes your vocals both present and clear, yet still retaining all that lush reverb. Just something to try.

      @Matheus-ly6eu 4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      @Logan Bolton It's very common practice with EDM stuff to do that with delays and longer reverbs, yeah... It can be used more subtly as a mixing thing or more directly as a substitute for automation.

    Hey man, thanks for the video. Really informative! Just wanted to let you know that when you're talking about the USB Focusrite by Scarlett... that's an Audio Interface, not a pre-amp. It has a pre-amp build in (that's what the 48V are for) but when you talk about preamps, those are external pre-amps. To give an example: Neve 1073, that's a famous pre-amp which looks similar to an audio interface, but it's not the same. After connectic your microphone to an external pre-amp you still need it to go trough an Audio Interface like your Scarlett Focusrite to work on your computer. Much love :)

  • @MacetazzOpina
    @MacetazzOpina 4 ปีที่แล้ว +16

    Actually the brand is focusrite, the low end consumer models are marketed under the scarlett name, theres also clarett and saphire under the focusrite brand. Great video tho

    • @laussethecat
      @laussethecat 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Still sounds better than you with the "low end consumer model" Scarlett

    • @MacetazzOpina
      @MacetazzOpina 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@laussethecat excuse me? so you took the time to listen to stuff i did like 5 years ago? yeah, i recorded that without a proper ADC and with virtually no hardware, i was 17 and in high school, didn't even have a good guitar or pedals, i used a 5 dollar dynamic mic that isn't even to pair with a 57 and didn't know anything about music production, i'm an audio engineer now.
      What's your point? i didn't even say the scarlett was bad, it's ok, but limited, the main reason it's low consumer end is because it only has 2 I/O and in some instances i believe 4inputs and just two main outputs, try to record a drum kit with that kind of ADC. To my knowledge you can't expand its preamp input bia dante or any digital protocol, so if you plan on expanding later you'll need to buy a bigger system anyway, that is why it's a low range consumer model. Focusrite also markets their clarett and saphyre with their preamp sound but to my own experience they are noisey and not even that good, the regular preamps on them, tho, sound almost the same as the ones in the 2/2 scarlett to me, but i digress... what's your point?
      have a nice one

      Acid God in a way it’s both

    • @lostecho4394
      @lostecho4394 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Its a mix of those things. I think that is probably why you generally dont hear it on tracks that have a lot of vocal tuning, or if they do use it with a lot of tuning i think they would probably not tune one of the tracks. I think the very slight difference in timbre between the two recordings also makes it sound good. Also the fact that if you have imperfections in one recording but not the other, then they will kind of be covered up by the other track.
