One Life to Live was absolutely the best, especially with Judith Light (Karen) and Gerald Anthony (Marco).. It's an outrage that Mr . Anthony never won an Emmy for his work on OLTL.
Did anyone notice there are no science fiction elements, no secret agent elements, no supernatural elements here?
Just great storytelling and acting.
This was one of the best clips of the show. No question. Holds your attention from start to finish and incredible acting from ALL.
One life too live has so many great characters and storylines,this soap was consistently good,as where other soaps weren't as consistent.

The stories around this time were so good on One Life.
I have been loving these old episodes---It is so strange, at the time, when I was a kid, I used to think "Maybe we should be saving certain things (shows, commercials, whatever) as artifacts, now that we have video" ----but of course never did! I am thankful to you for having the foresight!
You're very welcome. My mom and I were big Judith Light fans and that is why I have these episodes. I just wish I had thought to save more of them !! If only ABC would make them available, that would be great !
Oh I didn't want that to end. Poor Edwina. Felt bad for Marco, too despite himself. This was my favorite soap with these writers and characters. It's so hard to find any from those times. I wish there was a way to rewatch the whole thing. Thanks so much for posting. If you have any more I'd love to see them.
Yeah, it was a great soap. I have three more episodes coming up.......Judith Light's last two episodes and one where she and Larry are being held captive by Steve's gang.

Al Freeman is such an Icon He was the First African American Actor to win a Daytime Emmy for his Role as Ed Hall. He Also played Virgil in Roots, then Malcolm X in Roots The Next Generations. If he hadn't played Ed, another Actor that would have been perfect would have been Ruben Greene who played Bernard in The Broadway/Movie Version of The Boys In The Band.

Wow I used to Watch this soap 😊...I used to get frustrated 🥴 with The Marco , Karen story. Karen was always such a weakling..lol Judith Light was the best actress..always so emotional and could cry at a drop of hat❤. Watching this now..kinda corny..😅only on a soap opera.😂I remember all these commercials to. Thanks for the upload.❤
I remember when The New York Times erroneously printed Margaret Klenck's (who played Edwina) obituary back in 1993, saying she died of a heart attack. They confused her with actress Edwina Lewis, which was the character name of Margaret Klenck on One Life To Live.

@@foryourviewingpleasure966 I saw it when I was five, but since the internet, I have only scene a few pictures, read a synopsis and seen a "Love in the Afternoon" promo for it. I just remember as a child the Titania costume Samantha and Olympia wore was eerie. And I remember Olympia having this fantasy about walking in on Samantha in Asa's lap then shooting them both dead. Poor woman was totally off the rails.
@@erikandrus4387 I met Olympia (Taina Elg) briefly outside of the OLTL studio in NYC in the early 80s. She was very nice and I wish I had asked for an autograph.
@@foryourviewingpleasure966 Oh that is so cool! I would love to meet her and tell her how much I loved her work. I think after a while Olympia became a victim of circumstance, but was really a sympathetic character. And of course she was very eloquent too. I am so glad you had that happen...♥
In fact, there is no episodes with Olympia....it is a pity....we only have a couple of seconds in the Asa and Sam's wedding episode....

That was a good episode and I even enjoy the original commercials that played at the time.
I was a kid but I remember thinking Marco was a great bad guy. I think he's a template for later sympathic villains that were never quite redeemed.

Al Freeman Jr, (Ed) was a very underrated actor. He really was keeping it together during this episode. Straight up Mister Cool.

I also saw 'Cass Winthrop' from Another World. It's fun watching these episodes because you see actors and actresses who are better known as characters from other soaps.

I was a gh girl, but caught a bit of OLTL here and there when i was a kid. While this wasn't my soap I always got a kick out of Marco and until just now in 2023 I had totally forgotten about him. A Todd before there was a Todd.

Hey this aired 5 days after ANC's Cliff and Nina's first wedding, which was labor day mon. 9-3-80. If this was a Friday cliffhanger than this would have had to be 9-7-80. Soaps never air on Saturdays so it had to have been 9-7. But maybe I'm wrong..,.
Sept 8, 1980 was a Monday. Labor Day 1980 was Sept 1.
