Still a great place. Have been on Coastal Highway several times North of 65th Street where only one North Bound lane was open. We drive up to the Rehoboth Beach outlets one rainy day just before schools reopened. Parking lots were filled.
I love oc but 2 years ago a bad summer rainstorm flooded the usual roads near inlet and bent my splashguard for car and had to be cut over this has changed my view of oc...and I still go but I dont want to forever it will get more frequent...
@@stephaniemiller1360 We been going to a summer & Fall vacation in OC. for last 25 years. Think the town does an outstanding job of maintaining the island. We only go to much closer Wildwood once every few years and the streets back near the bay get flooded after a hour or two of rain. I will never attempt to ride up to the Rehoboth Beach outlet center's on a rainy day because too many people have the same rainy day adventure in mind. We like to drive over to the Salisbury Mall but not as good since Sears & think it was Macy's closed.
At the next low tide the water may be completely out of the streets or just shallow pockets near the storm drains because the wind is out of the NW and pushing the water out of the bay through the inlet. If the winds were still out of the NE and continuing to blow the water would only recede by maybe half a foot and the next high tide would be even higher. I hope this explains things a little bit.
It bent my metal splash guard on my car 2 years ago and honestly its a huge turn off of the place I have gone to since I was a baby...it had to be cut off.....I love oc and went since..but the flooding is going to get worse in years to come...
thanks amigo
No problema. Gracias por ver.

The storms just make me appreciate where I live a little bit more.

Ahh hate to see the flooding.
It was a one day inconvenience, not that bad, but it does happen quite frequently.
When you get that much street flooding, how long does the water stick around on those streets? Does the water disappear naturally?

Are you trying to impersonate Jeff Spicoli
Not this time - it was just a natural response to a cool looking breaking wave.
