Hey y'all. So I figured this out after the tutorial, but to do the 360 images correctly you need to also set your field of view to 90. Once you do this everything will look more as it should and you don't need to play with the coordinates on the Blender side of things. Hope this helps!
One of the very few times i've been frustrated in my 3D journey on Linux: IFS is a pain to get running. Compatibility layers don't do the job, wine or proton, etc. But I'm about to start trying to compiling it from source and see if I can get it to work. I hope so, this look fantastic. I'll edit this comment should it work for others in my position.
This is cool, I have been doing something similar with 2D fractals for backgrounds of my pieces for a few years now but hadn't figured out an easy way of getting Apophysis or anything to render out 360 images for use as enviroment textures. Will definitely be giving IFS a shot when I have a moment!
The only thing I wish you showed was how to add lens flares/glow to the stars within the nebula. Other than that, this was very informative. Thanks for sharing.
Was gonna try to include that but the video was already pretty long. My next tutorial will be on how to add bloom/glare (the method is actually super cool)
@@StarblazerTV i found an alright method for now: if you plug a splits into the same spherical as the gaussian, and turn the weight down to around 0.1, and the opacity to 0, it sort of has a similar effect
Looks really cool :D Tempted to try but then also stay a bit within the visual limits of astrophotography. I use blender so rarely so it will probably be a bit painful haha.
What happened 2.32 min in the video? Where did you get the fractal you adjusted the parameters of, when I try to follow video I did not get the same result.
From what I understand, when he (and we) hit the Random button, it generates a random loop of functions and settings in the Editor. In the following steps, which is why I think everyone's looks different to start? But hopefully things start to look a little similar once you adjust your loop to match his.
Sorry for the question, a bit naive. English isn't my native language, so I might have missed something in the video. How could I use these images as HDRI in Blender? I tried exporting as "equirectangular," but it doesn't seem to look good. Even in 4k, it ends up with low quality for HDRI.
Can you help me please? When I export to Exr, everything is very overexposed and cannot be corrected in any way. Even if you set the color correction more or less, it’s all faded
I tried to export my nebula in EXR format, but after adding it to blender image background, it's just a black image with a white dot. That's confusing.
There’s a few other fractal renderers out there. I’m sure some of them will run on Mac and you can use the same logic to create more or less the same effect
Thank you for the helpful tutorial; however, I'm encountering an issue as a beginner in Blender. When I add the 360 image, it doesn't display and appears completely black. Could you please assist me in resolving this?(at shading)
I exported a full HD nebula render and put it into an environmental texture in blender. Then I increased a background value in shader graph but the image is extremly blured(Im not using any compositing). Why is it happening?
That's a phenomenal tutorial thank you so much❤❤ but i have a problem with the ifs app, so it keeps showing me a black screen and i tried to do different stuff then when i hit the animation button it finally shows but unfortunately thats only in the exploration mode and when shifting to the final mode its black again !! please help me out...

This is excellent. I'm a Space Artist and will immediately try this out in my workflow. Thank you
This is a criminally underrated channel
bro im so hyped for this, these tutorials are the best out there
This is so freaking amazing! Been working on a Nebula for an animation recently and then this shows up!
Thanks bro, you are the best! Please make video about animation if you can
Thanks man. Planning on doing a general animation tips tutorial video eventually
This was so awesome, thank you! Really appreciate the work you put into making this.
Yesss!! 🤩🤩 Time to make my own nebulas now!! Thanks a lot for these super COOL tutorials
thx, I could fiddle with this for days
It’s so much fun and renders so quickly, I’ve spent hours just fiddling with and moving around the scene

I'd like to build something like this in houdini. Any suggestions outside creating various abstractly shaped volumes and light sources throughout?
Thats a good walkthrough, thank you for sharing!

How did you find out about this software? No one makes any videos about it.
true, cant find any longer or detailed video about it.
Wonderful, thank you so much!
Amazing video ! IFSRender is extremely interesting.

@AlaskanFX Great, looking forward to learning that part of the process.

I tried animating camera now its stuck on playing or may be crashed how to come out of playback ? Help !!
But how to set exposer, Gamma and bur in DHRIS 23:17 like we set in compositing 19:10
Bro..... This stuff is gold..... Thank you ❤
Glad you enjoy it! This is by far one of my favorite tools to use
Hi. Very cool tutorial, I would like to see more how you can export nebula box in UE5
Can't wait ☄️
Im on mac , is there a way to install IFS in mac or is there an alternative?
Would love to see how to make the larger nebula shown in the start too!
Can you help me please? When I export to Exr, everything is very overexposed and cannot be corrected in any way. Even if you set the color correction more or less, it’s all faded
hmm just make use of jpg or png bro its ok to not use exr for this special cases
hi, to use it as an hdri, do i have to simply download it and put as hdri on blender?
Pretty much, check my comment for a correction to how I did it in the video
@@AlaskanFX thank you, a question, is the nebula at 0:43 created with thid method?
Great tutorial. Thanks. Anyone else having issue with Windows 11 Defender not wanting to allow IFSRenderer to run? Is this normal?
Thanks. Defender it did that for me as well if I recall correctly, happens with a lot of the GitHub stuff I use.
does it work for videos?
I tried to export my nebula in EXR format, but after adding it to blender image background, it's just a black image with a white dot. That's confusing.
maybe export it as png if u want it as image background or use it as environement
I wonder if there is a Mac alternative to IFS Renderer...

You're the best!
You have pretty interesting effects too if you replace a "Spherical" by "Moebius" 😁
ahh thx for the suggestions i will try that

Try increasing the strength to like 800 or something (this acts like increasing the exposure)
You are the absolute goat.
I exported a full HD nebula render and put it into an environmental texture in blender. Then I increased a background value in shader graph but the image is extremly blured(Im not using any compositing). Why is it happening?
HD is actually really low resolution for an HDRI. Usually you want at least 2000 x 4000 pixels
@@AlaskanFX oke thanks
Deserves a sub!!!!! :) Luv ur vids btw!
Thanks! Glad you enjoy them! : )
I love your work, but when you upload the new tutorial for the black hole, I've been waiting for 3 months lol
did you figure this all out on your own? or was there a resource you found particularly useful? edit: also this is sick btw

This looks a lot like a guide I wrote for this specific program and purpose. I tried to post the link here but the comment gets auto-nuked.
