Just received my Gen2 last week. Have a Virtuoso for 10+ years and just recently figured out the burrs are shot. I knew before that the grinder is important but didnt think of this when my coffee flavor went south. Bought a new roaster and cleanned my drip coffee maker. Tried numerous different coffees and it never dawned on me it was the grinder. Now the sweetness and clarity of my east African coffees is back! Bought a rebuild kit from Baratza with new burrs that should be here next week. This Ode gen2 is the shit! I had some great coffees here and they were crap with a worn out grinder. THE GRINDER IS VERY IMPORTANT!
Bought mine Cyber Monday and using it every day. I have no complaints, but I was using a Toastmaster blade for years! Lol. Definitely, got a noticeable improvement in taste. Perfect for grinding in small quantities, 1-4 cups at a time, and very quiet. Very happy with my purchase direct from Fellow. Have ground Medium to Dark Roasts and, also, expensive Sey light roasts ALL with good results. I will be trying SSP MP burrs with Sey to try and get even better results.
Would I taste much difference between a conical burr against a flat burr e.g niche zero against a fellow ode 2- if I take milk in my drip or filter coffee?
Great video, enjoyed watching. I know what you mean about the rabbit hole....I'm not into expresso myself as find it too strong so would have a latte or cappuccino instead. Also really enjoy a pour over using the origami dripper with V60 filter, and more recently using the Kalifa filter paper. I bought the commandante MK4 hand grinder last year, and really enjoy the coffee I make. However now I am wondering about the ODE Gen 2 grinder or the new up and coming Fellow Opus 😂

Its the consistency of it that has made me not regret.
