I collected World War II American Gear for a few decades. I had a 1943 field jacket with a Manufacturing date one day after the pattern date and it was unissued. It had that shiny sateen finish on it. If you looked closely at some of the well-worn gear you could see traces of this finish but it would quickly wear off. Incidentally, that Mercator knife is pretty awesome. Nowhere near as heavy as they were over 100 years ago but great for opening boxes.

@@CeeAreDee my neighbor. He managed to grab two of them as an officer stationed in Italy with the CID. I worked off acquiring his foot lockers with both his complete personal gear, issue items and War souvenirs by mowing lawns all summer when I was 19.

If you want a really good flicky outy knives, get a protech Malibu (not spring assisted) or a protech Newport (spring assisted). Don’t know what the laws out there are.
Yeah. That’s the tricky thing. The laws are pretty unclear here. I’ve seen guys with 5 inch fix blades in their belt. Back in the uk. That’s an instant jail sentence.
Looks like you got a size large. I'm looking to buy one as well. But wanted to see what size I should get. I'm 181cm with an athletic build. I'm thinking a large as well. Let me know your opinion on the sizing. If it's kind of a looser fit.

Those are a very very old pair of Hansen pants. From right at the start of the brand.
