have you tried the turbo cad mac version, i got the deluxe version and seems completely different, so much so i complained that it was different to your version, so they upgraded me to the pro version. I'm in the 30 day money back period, I'm basically doing a timber frame extension with roof work, i started drawing it, but thought if it was on cad it might be better to send about as required
Smart guy, well done for getting the upgrade. Using cad for the drawings is excellent as it is really easy to tweak or alter the plans down the line...
@@trendstyledesign6446 that's what i said to them, hence rather than firstly giving me a refund they tried upgrading me to the pro version which would be great but it on first inspection is inferior to the windows version, or am i completely wrong, i wasn't able to find any videos on it for drawing plans, but i will search via cad now too
@@trendstyledesign6446 Ideally I'm using it to do working drawings for a timber framed wrap round extension, and re roof with rooms, so thought cad might be quicker in drawing, and then sending for structals, I'm doing it all my self, design and build
@@MattStaddon-mq5rpyeah the guys from ismi tend to tell you to upgrade instead of actually helping you with the issue. If you are using Mac and you want something similar to Turbocad Windows or autocad then Ares-commander is one option, there is also LibreCad, qCAD both have free options, they are very basic, qcad has a paid option as well. There is Macdraftas well. Also Freecad could be another option.
@@drawplans I have Turbocad Pro platinum 2017. I have stopped using it at the moment as it seems very buggy. I do a lot of collaboration with other building designers and drafters . DWg/DXF, it does not like mtext etc...
@@trendstyledesign6446 I haven't used the Turbocad Pro Platinum as it is way to good for most of the work we do. The standard TC Deluxe is ideal for us for residential work. Most important is it is STABLE and predictable which is what you need for design work. Thanks for sharing...
Do you use what I believe is effectively an ‘auto update’ (my words) function inherent in the Blocks feature? Could it be used to update across different drawings within a file?
we're not using auto update but it is possible to change or alter files that auto update. A different setup and tutorial that we might get around to...
Very Good
Always great to get a little feedback - thank you...

Turbocad Mac is based off ViaCAD a completely different program to the Windows versions

Hi, when you say automatically update the elevations, are you manually updating it? Or is the plan a 3Dmodel?
Forgive the misuse of words. It means that I update - it doesn't happen automatically...
