- Producers Pride Metal Brooder with Heater Complete Care Brooder has made it to the homestead! Two to be exact!! Today I unbox this amazing metal brooder and show you a step by step build with all the instructions. YOU SHOULD WATCH THIS BEFORE PUTTING YOURS TOGETHER. SOME PARTS OF THE INSTRUCTIONS ARE NOT DIRECTIONALLY CLEAR.
A chicken brooder, heater, feeder, waterer in one complete unit. Powder-coated steel construction with plexiglass sides. Can house up to 20 baby chicks up to 6 weeks old. Feeding and watering trays can easily be filled and serviced from the outside. PUll out trays under wire grate allows for easy clean up. Radiant heat technology is safer then heat bulbs. Dual position switch brooder / heater. Height adjustment for heater. Built in thermostat maintains constant temperature. Convenient in cord switch. This metal box brooder is very nicely constructed. I have 2 that will be nice to have a stackable brooder. I have looked over the years and never found a brooder at such a lower price. Stromberg's brooders, GQF brooder , universal box brooder and QC supply brooders are all very high priced.

So how is the brooder working for you? I've been hearing rumors that they just took it off the market because of problems with cold chicks. I also heard that Tractor Supply is having serious issues with the in-store birds. I'm thinking about making a video about the situation and was wondering if you would be interested in commenting.

This is one of the warmer stores. she lives in Oklahoma 71-91f summers a good point in your video though I was trying to find youtubers with good results using these brooders after seeing your video and I guess it is suitable for some areas
In all honesty some chicks do come sick also if you think about it naturally they do go through rough weather so this new product does help the chicks and babies not for a long time since they do get bigger also I understand if they have to many in their and they get crowded but this to me is a good product if you hatch chicks easy to clean and to keep maintenance 🐥🐣
tractor supply went back to tubs and sold all these brooders at a great loss

That is cool. I seen that Tractor supply had their chicks in those but they didn't have any brooders in stock other than the ones they were using.

2, 6 inch zinc mending plates will lower that heater down for the baby chicks.
I have the same tower as you see in the video the same size and it works great

I purchased the Tower model, it is just like the ones in the store and just as large. Just put it together today, looks great so far, can't wait for my hatch to complete.

Thank you for sharing. Got one online and was delivered today I have hard time to hang the heating plate system on the brooder. My chicks are 3 weeks, so it should be fine but I may have to add a heating plate for the quails as you cannot lower the plate. This is not a radiant heat, so the chicks should be closer.
Daniela, I have the legs from the other same exact plates, so I can use that. Last night I just took it down and placed it upright leaning against the bracket and they stood along it like a wall, it made me feel better. In 2 weeks, I will put it back up when they don't need to be 95° anymore :) Did you watch my second video about the heat and how I tested it? i posted it yesterday :)

I cannot find it. I called TS, they didnt have it, looked on website, it's not there..like not at all, not that it's "out of stock", it's not showing up at all. I looked on Amazon, not there. Ahhhh ☹ I want this brooder, I've got chicks hatching out next week, it would be so helpful. Do u have any suggestions on how I can find this??
Hey Stacey! I do not. I called Producer's pride last week and they said it is just so new they do not have it out in all the stores. When I called it was not even on the website yet for me to do reviews, hence my tutorial of the assembly. I also did a second video concerning the heating element. I suggest you get a producers pride heat plate and use it in a brooder you make. It is safer then a heat light and you can use it in a box, rubbermaid, trough, anywhere :) You may search my other chicken video if you want to see all the types of chick brooders I have and use :)

I got mine too! Love it except for the height of the heater. I'm wondering if we can just order the feet for the heater. I'm so excited to have this brooder for such a great price. Only I can't find them available anywhere. I ordered mine shipped to the store, I wish I would have gotten 2!
I used my legs off my heat plate I have had. It is a great idea for the first 3 weeks or so;)

I have a couple of questions. For quail, could you take the mesh tray out and use the tray as a place for the to walk on instead(I'm not sure if the holes in the mesh are too big for their feet)? Also, it looks like if you don't want to use the feeder/waterer, you can lower that metal bracket to cover the holes in the plexiglass...is that correct? Thanks!
Yes! Exactly! The quail would get out if added. The plate will not lower enough for quail, I had to modify all use with this brooder. It is a very poor design but it has worked rest for us at our new feed store
@@ParagonRidgeRanch would it be low enough if the mesh is removed and they walk on the tray that usually holds everything that falls through the mesh?
I saw them at TS the other day. Had dead chicks in them... I wondered about the cleaning when I saw them.
ANN, I have read and seen posts and comments, the ones at TSC for their own are a lot larger than the one they sell. The plate needs to be on heat, not brooder. I feel the plate brackets need to lower more and also have vent covers to control how much heat goes in and out. I have covered mine with a blanket and it stays at 97°, Im happy with it:)

Why is your switch on the inside? Wouldn't it be more convenient if it was on the outside?
Are there any additional brackets for the brooder plate to be able to lower it a bit lower. It needs to be lower for new chicks for the first week I would think.
Not sure, the switch is fine, you have to open it and its easy, plus, once its on, theres not any reason to mess with it :) It is an awesome brooder
Just seeing your other question!! So sorry!! Yes, it’s not low enough. I tool it off the bracket and stood it upright, I have legs for it from my other plates. Works perfect like this since they were only day olds;)
