I'm sure this hack is only possible because of the decompilation too. SM64 hacking scene is insane now, engine optimisations and new features running on real N64 hardware are incredible.

the plot was actually mario's journey to fistfight jeff bezos after getting DMCA takedown notices on his twitch videos for playing DMCA-enabled music on stream. the competition was for music-themed hacks and even contains a midi from joel's windows destructions streams!

Its well worth checking out for the retro 60s futurism the show had. Had so many different cool vehicles and its all so detailed. I think I might have to dig out my old DVDs I used to watch as a kid and give them a rewatch
No matter the engine, no matter the character, no matter the universe, Vinny will ALWAYS brutally murder the poor Black Mesa scientists for no reason.
Despite the wacky glitches (they are hardly because of Vinny's passive, believe me. Simpleflips himself saw the curvature of the Universe itself during that car segment) this is a great little hack and done in such a short time too.

The reason this is all possible is because Mario 64 was reverse engineered a few years ago by a team of people. This gives modders so much more freedom. You can basically add anything you want if you know how to code it in C, so long as it's within the limits of the N64 or N64 emulators.
Can't wait for Ocarina of Time Half Life mods. 😂
@@adamdenardis5438 it's doable! The OoT hacking community isn't as large as SM64 and the game doesn't have as much documentation, but I'm sure someone could do it if they really wanted to. The source code is there.
