Your fears are well founded Scott! There are so many unknowns when a child starts a new phase in their life. Hopefully his immune system will start to improve little by little being exposed to a variety of new bugs. In addition to Teddy growing physically, he is such a wonderfully intelligent little boy, he needs to continue to grow mentally. He is really amazingly intelligent, sociable and self assured. Seeing him so well and happy just fills the hearts of those who follow your channel! ❤

You are two absolutely fantastic parents. Sometimes I think people that will be able to handle and give their all are chosen for these situations. Teddy is looking fantastic and so are Mum and Dad. He is such a fast learner and we shall pray that he stays cancer free. He is such a cute little man.
Keep living for today because tomorrow is never promised ❤

I have AML (Acute Myeloid Leukemia) and I have had to be a hermit! Especially after going through COVID-19 as the world shut down and then started back up. I was diagnosed in March of 2022. I am in remission but am about to be two years out in November from my Bone Marrow Transplant. I still have to be very careful. God bless you and know that I will pray for you!

You're never boring to listen to, Scott! What you were explaining makes perfect sense. I'm so glad that Arthur is at the same nursery with Teddy. That has to help him to feel more secure. He's such a smart and sociable little boy! It was so sweet to see him give Willow a cuddle upon returning home the first day. I'm so very proud of our Super Ted!❤🎊🌟

You are doing great with making choices even when you are scared. I'd personally have started him in a year from now. An extra year to get stronger and a bit older and just do more catch ups with kids etc and more social stuff over the next year. He is only little and pausing another year would have been my idea. But Teddy is amazing and he will do his best with everything he tries anyway

Big hugs as a nursery practitioner I promise he will be loved, you will get initial nursery germs where they share it in the begining then it gradually spaces out if a child is not settled food is the last thing they will eat as food is the only thing they can control in the whole situation. Proud of you for doing this x

Scott, you and Katy have such wise, totally selfless, courageous heads on your shoulders, and your journey with Teddy is a huge inspiration and education to us all. Massive respect to you both! ❤

Wow ! Hi Lovely dog! It's called Willow! I love it😂 ! Glad the school went as well as it did ! And Scott I understand that comprehension I had a very sick baby that I spent a lot of time in the hospital with her and I felt exactly that COMPREHENSION on her first day of school! Well, she holds her own very well at age 20! I hope it all goes well for Teddy and you and that he will thrrive in health and spirit !!

    @alisoncoates18 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

OMG so proud of Teddy starting nursery school.
Scott you fears worries and urge to control the situation your faced with is absolutely valid and understandable. I have a Very healthy 29 year old son and as a mum when he started nursery I was a wreak!!!! I hated the thought of him getting sick and when he did my anxiety at letting him return you to the place where he got sick was overwhelming and my son had no health concerns, so to be in yours and Katie's shoes is not a place I would ever want to be. I think your amazing parents and you too both need to be proud of yourselves and each other for pushing through the fear and anxiety for the benefit of Teddy.
My son is a parent now and I watch him going through the same fears and worries I went through, it's only natural to have these feelings as a loving parent and even more so for you as a parent of a post transplant child.
All I can say is trusrt in the process, trust in your decision, trust in each other and talk to each other about your daily worries and fears for Teddy as he grows up and faces new challenges.
One thing about being a parent now matter what,as soon as our children come into this world we worry about them. The worries never stop, they just change as time goes by.
If the anxiety becomes too overwhelming for either of you then contact people at children's cancer charities as I am sure they will be able to point you in the right direction you need to get outside emotional support especially as PTSD is a big thing for parents of children living with a cancer no matter what stage their treatment is at.
On a final note your an awesome family and this Chanel will be and continue to be of comfort, courage and strength to families living through childhood cancers.
Thankyou for continuing to share your journey with us all and for creating awareness of childhood Cancer
God bless you all. I'm rooting for you always xxxx ❤️❤️😘😘🤗🤗🫂🫂🫂🫂

Difficult balancing act, Scott but as you say, Teddy's immune system needs the exposure. His body needs the ability to fight viruses and infections. That is key.
A worrying process for you and Katie, but in time you will be so glad you sent him to nursery.
Totally understandable you want control but it is impossible to control ALL the variables.
The video was not boring at all..
We all feel for you and are willing things to go well. I'm sure they will.
Teddy will thrive at nursery school. He's alright, beautiful child. Go, Teddy Bridge!!

Another milestone. My grandkids are grown now but all the anxiety of first day at any school is normal. Good that he is learning new activities and trying new foods. Step by step is the order of the day. Teddy is so cute with you all. I remember a comedy joke about second day at nursery school and the toddler says to mom (May be a little late.. going to stop off with the boys for milk after class.). They do grow up so very fast.

As a teacher, I have had to find things that help me and my students stay well with all of the nasty germs that are within schools. I have two things I have found effective, although in his case would probably need to be run by his physicians. I have a medical background as well having worked at our children’s hospital in Fort Worth Texas, Cook’s Children Medical Center. The first helpful thing I found is using a diffuser in the home and classroom that you can put two natural oil blends in. They are called “OnGuard and Breathe”. I purchase the ones by DoTerra oils. I have really seen a difference with this. Having taught near an Indian Reservation, I learned that Elderberry is great for keeping our immune system stronger. Since I learned this, I have given my own children and myself Elderberry gummies everyday. I have noticed a big difference in our ability to fend off infection. I am immunocompromised myself and so I have to be diligent with my health as well. They are both natural and have worked for all of us. Just an idea to consideration. I know you will do your research. I love your videos and Teddy’s singing. Keep up the good fight! ❤ to each or you.

Not boring in the slightest! I can’t even imagine how worrying it is for you, but you explain it very well. I suppose my question would be - if you don’t let him go now, then when? When he’s 5, 7, 10? He’s going from strength to strength and well done to you and Katie for being so strong, too ❤❤❤

Scott thank you for sharing your concerns. I don’t feel that for a child but for myself as I also am on Ivig. I was denied and over due for 5 weeks and had to start back to working at a school. I have learned over the years that worrying creates its own issues. Ivig has protected me over the years more than I know. My attendance is better than some as I have learned how to protect myself best I can. Ivig has antibodies to chicken pox so he has a slight head start in getting through it. Wish way to help.

Totally understand your angst about sending Teddy to day care. I’m a former pediatric nurse from the United States. Is there learning in your day care there? As a rule, there’s not here. You can always give it a go and if runs into issues, restart next year. Preschool starts at 3 years of age and most require potty trained. Good to see Teddy eating.

So happy to see that Teddy is doing so well at nursery school. It’s a big adjustment for him and you and Katie. I remember taking our son to nursery school. He cried at first when I left and a few days later he cried when I picked him up! Of course we hadn’t been through the horrible experience that you and Katie have been. My husband and I would have have the same worries that you do. I pray that Teddy stays healthy and grows up to be a wonderful young man.

Hi the Bridges, it's so nice to see little man going off to nursery, go super Teddy.
I totally understand that both you and Katie have decided you'll only have Teddy and to throw all your love and support into raising him. However, being an only child can be very lonely at times. If you're both busy and he wants to play a board game, it'll have wait until one of you are free. Having no siblings to share life's journey together is tough.
I completely understand you've made your decision and no one can influence you to change. I believe you are brilliant parents and you have very big hearts. You're great with little man.

Your fears are so understandable, your little man has been so unwell. You had no idea how or if he would recover. Now the expectation is that he can live a “normal” life. No wonder you feel so anxious about, just do what feels right for you and also Teddy is so good at letting you know. Nursery will always err on the side of caution. You also need to manage your anxiety and if that means sometimes you make the decision sometimes to not let him go, then it’s a win win. He is such a little dot and one day this will be easier but just now you need to look after your mental health because as parents you have been through the one thing that parents don’t want to go through, you are in control, you are so brilliant at doing the “right thing”. Love and hugs always from a soon to be Grandma.❤❤❤

So glad you posted this, Teddy is amazing! I just cannot get over how smart he is! The anxiety is real, you and Katie are so brave to send him to pre school, don't know if I could do it! It is the best thing for him, praying he thrives and gets tiny bugs to build up that immune system. By the way do you have a post office box?

It's not selfish that you'd keep him home. It is love, care and protection of your son.

You are both such wonderful parents, Teddy will flourish at nursery but I can imagine how difficult it was to make that decision. As a mum of now 3 grown children I also found it hard starting in the school system. But they do need it to learn, grow, make friends and also get stronger immunity wise. X

I think Teddy should be home with you guys if it's possible, I don't listen to the world, I think you should listen to your gut, and there's parents out there that don't vaccinate. I think you need to question is it truly a must for you to send him to nursery? But if you are happy, then I'm happy. ❤

Hi. After my son had a stem cell transplant when he was 21yrs he had to receive all his baby/ toddler immunisations again. Just wondering if Teddie also had to have his immunisations done again before starting nursery. Very best wishes from Australia

Oh Wow. For us the doctors are not letting my son to kindergarten until he gets his mandatory early childhood vaccinations and he can only get them 1 year after end of treatment and he didn’t even have a transplant, just chemo (intensive and maintenance therapy)

I love your content, and everything you, and Katie feel, is exactly what good parents worry about, but going through what both of you have went through, have caused you to come out with huge scares, nobody could watch their child go through cancer, and not have them. Teddy is strong, and he can do this, and I believe your right, you can't stop him from living, great job guys!!!👆👆👆

Scott I would be like you and would have kept him away from nursery only because when my daughter went to nursery was the first time she ever got sick in her pre school years and it got progressively worse as then she contracted whooping cough from an unvaccinated child and was extremely ill for weeks even though she was vaccinated and it’s affected her lungs for life but situations like that seem unavoidable if your child is to progress through the pre school to school system. I think your overseeing him and taking that extra care will hopefully keep Teddy safe and if there’s an outbreak of anything detrimental you can always keep him at home.
Good luck and I hope Teddy settles in.
