Making a Soft Plastic Lure - Lazy Frog

- In this video, I will show you how I make the lifelike frog lure - with the help of Fusion 360 and a 3D printer. The world is not always perfect, and there is no exception in plastic lure making. After a few failures in pouring the first mold, I realized that mold wasn't working, and I had to go back to the drawing board and redesign the mold. The second mold is a lot better, but my pouring skill is ... Let's just say I need to practice more, a lot more!

Woooooow!!! So cool. Thank you! I'm gonna try and make one with a gelatin/glycerin mixture for a bait that is not harmful to the fish if swallowed and also biodegradable. = )
that sounds really cool!
You are crazy. I like crazy peoples. Keep going !! :)
cool process
That was cool thank you
thank you so much!!
You are very welcome.
A couple of ideas on floating. 1. Use a floating formula plastisol, like dead on white feather blend. 2. Add micro balloons to the plastisol. 3. Print a hollow insert and place it while pouring. (this is tricky since you still need a place for the hook to go.
Thanks for the ideas. I will try the feather blend. Was thinking the micro balloons but don’t know where to get them. Did the foam before (for the bat) but it’s not ideal. If the feather blend works that will be golden. We will see.
Hey I was wondering if this file is available? I’m wanting to do something similar but 2x larger. Having this as a starting point would be a huge help
Sounds like a good opportunity for collaboration, let me see what I can help. PM sent.
They do have hooks with weights on hooks
Thanks for pointing that out. I would have to add some micro balloons otherwise the bait will sink.
Mirco beads will help it float.
Yes I need to get some of those.
Is this file available for download yet $
Yes sir, it’s on cults3d. cults3d.com/en/users/yauck_outdoors/3d-models
i Use Miro Bubbles Added to The Plastisol It Will Float 👍🏼
What are micro bubbles? Is that the same as micro balloons? Like small powder-like glass balls?
You can buy floating plastisol to make floating baits
I think that's the most straightforward solution. Do you know if it will still float with the weight of the hook?
@@yauckoutdoors I think it will still float because the frog is quite fat
Can i download this file?
Sorry not currently. I might make it available in the future. Please stay tuned. Cheers!
inject it with air using a syringe if you want it to float
@@seansmith9134 that’s a good idea. I did something similar on eggs for trouts, and I put the needle in my thumb 😂 ouch
Hi
Hi there
