I love you analysis of this however I do belive mortarion does bring a fair bit more than what first appears when u look at his warscroll or statistics. Have you played vs triple sorcerer on disc from thousand sons? Half move on up to 3 units at a time plenty of armies have access to similar stuff. The benifit of cover one... yes we can get the benifit of cover in other ways however vs armies that just don't egnore over for the most part it enables us to push into places where we would loose cover to get better lines on our apponent to get around there cover or bait them into the open. Re roll 1s to wound is fairly decent and the extra contagion range can be useful if your apponent plans on staying just out of it est wich can come up a fair bit. He is actually fairly tanky and can even be healed a but some apponent will make the mistake of trying to kill him especially if there game plan is highly around debuffing enemy units or having most of there army by a charecter that gives everything stealth... yeah his damage output is kinda low but he is very very cheap when u compair him to other deamon primarchs wich pairs well with the overal cheapness of the army... I think he flips match ups where the game would be a massive uphill struggle / just not winnable into a way more even or even favourable match up. I mean try killing multiple c'tan without egnore modifiers its stupid hard after the first
Has anyone found success competitively with Mortarion? He’s such a cool model, but I never run him because usually I’m playing 2k or less points and I have to remove a lot to include him. Would love to hear about a decent list that includes him though
Lists with Mortarion have won multiple tournaments. The main one that comes to mind had Morty, LoV, Biop, Blightspawn, Typhus, 10 plague marines, rhino, 6 Deathshroud, 2 pred destructors, 10 cultists, spitter drone, 2 pbcs, beast of nurgle, 2x3 nurglings. something like that.
GJ, thank you for the cool video.
Is he not one of the best looking 40K models out there? Mortarion 🤢 is excellent
Glad you are back
