They have the option to stay in whatever country they prefer. So if Ghana is not good for you, you can try Tanzania, Nigeria Rwanda etc. That's it! These comments always concern me. The broad brushes people use demonstrates the lack of understanding of each other. As for African Americans I don't know if people truly understand the lack of knowledge many have of their history not only due to slavery but trauma, our migration history, etc. people often didn't pass down history because they wanted to forget it. Add in class and the individualism that is American culture you end up with varying experiences in America of the Black experience. We are Black but we are very much American. We see the world from an American lense.

At the time we went our separate ways he met a “Muslim African lady” here in America, I met her too, I knew him so well that I knew he wouldn’t be happy with her and miserable without me, he was older than me, “his clock was ticking” so to speak, so, I respectfully walked away and since then he’s been searching for me. Am I hearing some Jamaican heritage in his accent? Surprisingly, some Black Americans are finding some Kenyan ancestry in their DNA, some more than 20%. But considering the fact that Bantu migrations happened from Central & West Africa (Southeastern Nigeria, Cameroon, DRC, CAR, Chad) between 2000 BC and the 15th century, it's not impossible. A few weeks ago, I learned of the Bette-Bendi languages in Southeastern Nigeria with some similarity to the Bantu languages spoken elsewhere including Kenya.

Two Kenyan bantu tribes engaged in the Arab slave trade... specifically Chief Kivoi of the Kamba people, and king Nabongo Mumia of the Wanga kingdom. Nabongo even converted to Islam courtesy of the Ottoman muslims. Most of the AAs who turn up with Kenyan ancestry are from the Luhyas. Most of the ships carrying enslaved Africans taken from East Africa were destined for the Arab world and the East, but a few were re-routed to the ports of West Africa and consequently ended up in the Americas. Look up the Kamba Kokue and Kamba Kua of Paraguay. They still keep their Kamba traditions to this day.
