Hello, Unfortunately i haven't been in those cars for some time. I would need to go see them again. But to try to answer you in a different way, overall, i do find the quality of the inside a bit better than the older generation. But where this car definitely is different is in terms of comfort and all the high end features that this new generation brings. I would definitely qualify that of impressive. Yaris being one of the low end class, i was astonished to see all that. It starts to be closer and closer to a little German car in terms of comfort and feature but still not there yet. The grey tissue on the doors areas is an example of something i like to have (compared to leather) but it feels too cheap. Those innovations and comfort, in my opinion HAD to come one day in order to be able to compete with other car manufacturers. The new driving sensation will definitely bring some clients. It's more dynamic, more reactive, more fun and feels safer. I would definitely recommend people to try this car, if they had some cold feet / doubts with the older generation.
I have a previous generation yaris hybrid (your review of that one was quite helpful). The only thing that is a bit bothersome is the engine noise at high speed / acceleration. You mention that this one is better insulated but ADAC's noise measurements at 130 kmh are about the same (71.8 vs 71.6 dBA) unfortunately. Maybe it is subjectively better.

I tested this new up until 90 KM/H and still i do find it a bit better in terms of noise isolation (while driving eco friendly of course) from the drive-train and engine. Of course, this might be different at higher speed. As you said, and you are right, this is a bit subjective on my side. Other parameters do come in mind too like tires, road quality... :)
This honestly is the best little zip around car with everything I need. My only gripe is the dashboard. Maybe it’s my personal taste but those circular windows make the dashboard look even more cluttered in such a small space.

If there were soft plastics inside then this would be a masterpiece (like golf or leon). Quality is extremely poor and feels more like a toy than a car.
Hello, indeed there is soft plastique (foamed) on the Dashboard. Upper is soft, lower is hard. It was already the case with the Gen 3 of the Yaris. Gen 1 and 2 were full hard plastic though. The car feels better than the older one. I do not like the quality of the tissu on the doors though. I am more interested with this one with the quality and handling and sportiness compared to the Gen 3. It is completely different.
Hello, I will make soon a video about some EV tests. Although it should probably not go more than 2-4 KM as usual. We are still on a « standard » hybrid vehicle. Although max EV speed and battery regen has been improved by looking at the specs, distance should not be much different. But up too 130 KM/h it would be possible to have some switching to the EV on short distances to reduce consumption a bit.
Don't like the styling. Rear fenders too pronounced, rear light cluster too heavy, windscreen and backwindow to steeply raked. Yaris (Cross) was a busged car, this one is not.
Hello, The design is for sure well different than the older generation. Concerning the price, the Premium package for the Yaris hybrid was always a bit expensive. BUT, at this price, this car now has a lot of features that i wouldn't even imagine was possible.
I used to think that as well. But I have changed my mind. Full electric cars still do not have enough range (except for a few expensive ones) and it will still be years before affordable EVs are usable. Hybrids are a good compromise: a lot of range when needed, but also electric when possible, for short rides.
