The US constitution doesn't have one word of text that so much as implies or even hints at anything like absolute immunity for the president. Not when in office, not after, not for official acts, not for unofficial acts. Nothing. It's not a proper legal issue, and unless Trump's attorneys can point to LANGUAGE in the CONSTITUTION, no court should even consider giving a hearing on the issue of immunity. Any writs filed on the topic should be viewed as frivolous and vexatious litigation, and the attorney that filed it should face sanctions.

The US constitution doesn't have one word of text that so much as implies or even hints at anything like absolute immunity for the president. Not when in office, not after, not for official acts, not for unofficial acts. Nothing.
It's not a proper legal issue, and unless Trump's attorneys can point to LANGUAGE in the CONSTITUTION, no court should even consider giving a hearing on the issue of immunity. Any writs filed on the topic should be viewed as frivolous and vexatious litigation, and the attorney that filed it should face sanctions.
Just part of the overall DELAY strategy. The trump lawyers know this immunity campaign is going nowhere.....but it serves their purpose towards the end goal of getting trump to the presidency (where he will pardon himself)

I am by no means a lawyer but I have serious doubt that the Supreme Court will even take the case after that horrific performance by Trumps lawyers.

Yes, all they have to do is pose the same yes-or-no "hypothetical" question to trap Trump's lawyers in their absurd position regarding absolute immunity.
By refusing to take up the issue and/or simply confirming the lower court decision, the SCOTUS could stay out of the fray, divert most of the MAGA ire, and preserve whatever little credibility they have left.
The Supreme Court has no business doing so since the precedent was set in the Bill Clinton impeachment. So unless they intend to reverse that case....
President Clinton had to take a plea deal to stay out of jail for perjury, and that deal included punishments. He was disbarred and fined. He was _punished_
