I am an older, whiter voter (age 80, Scottish and English descent). I voted straight BLUE. I was born before Trump, when we were defeating fascism. I remember when the,Pledge of Allegence didn't contain (and, to my mind, should not) the words "Under God in the Pledge of Allegence. That violates tge Constitutional Separation of the 1st Amendment. As a child, l didn't question it. As an adult, l do. I take violation of the 1st Amendment seriously. I loved Tyler Perry's description of America as a quilt. A quilt of many colors that beautify that quilt. MR Trump wants to rip it apart, and we must not let him destroy that beautiful quilt. I live in an integrated house. We have more in common than differences (except for the narcissist who has convinced she is an empath, but who ordered me to give her my dinner because she thought l had more chicken and screamed when l refused. This is Trumpian, a mental disorder that is NOT fixable in adults, and l oppose a convicted FELON running for president as well as a full blown Narcissist, with that mental disorder increasing along with dementia. We need to return to the normality before Watergate. Harris is our biggest hope.
I appreciate knowing there's still guys like you around. Racism and other forms of bigotry only causes both sides to be pushed further into the fringes, and when that happens, hate becomes an endless feedback loop. Normal guys, like you, on the other hand, can help reign people back into the more moderate center.

Currently, early voting "polls" are just cross referencing who voted with what they are registered as. And from what I've seen there are a *lot* more registered Republicans breaking ranks against Trump's insanity, than there are Democrats breaking ranks against Harris. But we won't know until the votes themselves are counted. Until then, we all vote!

Don't put much stock in polls. That data can be manipulated and is often skewed from the outset. The only numbers that matter are the ones after counting is done. Please hold while we fix our politics.

When I was asked at work (it’s a place where they tie their identity with Trump) what I thought about the presidential election, I told them that I’m voting to maintain democracy. They got excited and I followed up with, “That’s why I’m voting for Harris/Walz”. They asked me why I said that. I said, “Trump has openly said that people won’t have to vote again in 4 years because he was going to ‘fix it’”. They got shocked. I said, “His words”.

I voted blue for the first time in my life. I went out on the first day of early voting in Texas and voted blue up/down the ballot. It's hard to wrap my mind around the reasons why anyone would align themselves with a person that is so focused on introducing chaos and division. I actually, only recently, started to post comments on certain TH-cam videos about this, being vocal about this can create a hostile environment.

This is deep MAGA country, and people are not shy about expressing support for the Orange Antichrist. If a single Dem professed support for Trump, there would probably be parades, but instead there is only the sound of crickets. When I was asked at work (it’s a place where they tie their identity with Trump) what I thought about the presidential election, I told them that I’m voting to maintain democracy. They got excited and I followed up with, “That’s why I’m voting for Harris/Walz”. They asked me why I said that. I said, “Trump has openly said that people won’t have to vote again in 4 years because he was going to ‘fix it’”. They got shocked. I said, “His words”.
