It was pretty much a guarantee that engine was going to be full of water just looking at it from the last video. It’s almost always a bad sign when the carb is off and there was a significant rust line from water sitting in the exhaust. The way they are cut off and turned up they are just water collectors. I was expecting it to be locked up solid. So at least it runs.

Need to put the other metering block back on and lightly seat the mixture screws then back them out a turn and a half work from there! Carbs are simple

You can interchange the bowl but you need to run the metering block that was on the carb for racing as it is metered for that cfm. But you may already know that.
So I ran the wrong metering blocks and it kinda worked, but switching over to the right ones as we speak as well as putting new parts in it and cleaning it all
I hope you wrote down what jet sizes were in front and rears (and actually checked the hole sizes with drill bit sizes?) Same thing w/ Power valve numbers. Never trust a jet marking number as they may have drilled them out, always compare to actual drill size (a common old school practice is often need a size larger pr than you have a lil' careful drilling is in order to make those 93's 95's or 78's 80's. HOLLEY has a conversion chart.

Set everything close, I will ship it back (no labor), as long as you pay for the return shipping, then I will talk you through the turning of screwsto get it run close. Then can make jet and power valve recs once it gets idling and running right enough to read plugs. Just need to fully write down once I receive it how it is currently set up. And after it is cleaned and has new parts in it it will be a lot better.

Hey Matt, I have been trying to find the video from way back when you were mounting a turbo, it was a frame mount or some sort, do you remember which brand it was? Maven?

@@stevenbelue5496 uhh it was obvious it was going to in the first video, there was a standing waterline in the exhaust and the top of the motor was left open. I’d be surprised if he even pulled the dipstick before he loaded it on the trailer.
I hope you put a case shield or blanket, over that trans. Not very safe, if the direct drum explodes, also I'd cover that U joint. A legit NHRA tech, won't allow the trans to be open like that. Only time that passes, is with an SFI case.

If it were me, I'd take my time with the car. Putting nitrous right away guarantees you're gonna tear something up. Why do that? Block was full of water. But hey, it's your car. Still good to see you back
Call the Old Man about an ATM carbrator ready to go out the box. Smartest carbrator man I know buddy. He will tell you same thing. Because your having power valve issues with that carburetor.
I know you had BB before but i don't think i saw a Stud Girdle on their, you should at the least have one if you plan to run it more than a few times, I'm surprised it doesn't have one.

He used to hang around SRC pretty much every day and then one day he just wasn’t ,I don’t know why he stopped maybe he will tell us if he sees this because I’m a firm believer that if someone wants you to know something they will tell you so if we find out it will be because he wanted to tell us
every bolt ran into alum. needs antiseeze period steel and alum. will create a corrosion that basically welds the threads be smart don't skip that step
@@george6201454 has a 4" stroke crank, you pull that crank out and throw one with a 4.250" stroke in and you have a 496, same block with diff rods/pistons of course. But yes stock 454 or 427 block.

you can use the bowls off of a 4150 but not the metering plates thats why it wont idle

396/454 stock block never heard of a 496 stock block
Stock 454 block with 496 stroker kit. Plus GM does make a stock 496, that's what the 8.1 liter is.
Look it up you can read about the different ways they make a 496
