Alright y’all, some are commenting (like a broken record) about this not being enough food for boys. 1. If you look at the intro label before each freezer meal, you’ll see I wrote “add 16oz of pasta” or “serve over mashed potatoes” etc…. This isn’t the WHOLE meal. I can’t freeze mashed taters! 😂 I mean maybe you can, I’ve never did it… but still. 2. Stop. Lol you can see my children are clearly not malnourished. Growing like weeds every day.. Just because they are boys doesn’t mean they automatically over eat.
People definitely need to stop! We have 5 people in our household 4 adults and an almost 18 year old son and all the recipes I've made have fed us all a big serving to fill us up. We've also had plenty of leftovers several times as well! Two of the adults (my husband and Aunt) are both close to 400 pounds. I always divide everything up evenly on everyone's plate or bowl. A lot of you don't realize just how much more you're actually over eating what the proper portion size is. READ the nutrition facts on the packaging people!
@@nicholecompany3856 we actually eat larger portions than recommended. As a parent, it is my job to teach them proper portions. Most of America overeats daily. We are a laughing stock to the rest of the world. I refuse to let my children be apart of that. They are healthy. They are growing. Ryder is almost 6ft tall. Breydon is on his way up there. Kylen is perfect on his growing charts at the doctor. I’ve been a parent for 15 years. You tend to learn people in that amount of time. I know how much each child eats of every dish I make. I won’t over cook a meal for “just in case” because I know them well enough to know they will let it all go to waste. In the past year, I can count on one hand the amount of times they’ve been hungry again shortly after dinner, and that’s usually because they have had a active day outside in the woods. They Worked up an appetite. So those days, they get a sandwich, yogurt, fruit, Mac n cheese, a hot ham and cheese out of the freezer that I’ve made for convenience, something like that. Now sometimes if I know they’ve been extra active, I holler before dinner, “are you normal hungry or extra hungry?” They usually tell me, and I cook accordingly.
@SouthernFrugalMomma exactly! I'm the same way! I couldn't have said it better myself! When you cook meals pretty much on a daily basis you learn pretty quickly how much each person eats and how much they eat of whatever kinda meal you make. It's not rocket science, it's common sense.
A lot of Americans think they have to over eat. They think their children constantly have to be eating, and eating a lot 🙄. That's why our country is so obese 🤷🏻♀️. A normal size portion of whatever food groups are usually fist size, or palm size
They could always eat fruit, drink a glass of milk, bread and butter or crackers and butter, carrots, celery, some pop corn, a cheese stick, peanut butter and apple or celery. There are a lot of things that they can eat to get their tummies full! My son is 31 6ft and 215 lbs he is very active, and he got married last November. His wife was amazed at how he doesn't eat like a horse!
You just gave me a great idea for a Christmas gift for my daughter and her boyfriend. I like to do "practical/helpful" gifts. I'm going to prep some of these dump and go crockpot freezer meals for them. They both work long hours and this would help them financially and give them some convenient options for dinner. AND save me some extra shopping. Win win!
Would love to see some shorts of what the meals look like when they are cooked. Your boys always have great honest opinions on your meals. Enjoy and thanks for giving us some great ideas to prep our freezer meals
Quick tip. I use Aldi French onion soup mix instead of buying the canned soup. It’s cheap. It takes less space in the pantry. I don’t have a lot is space for a good pantry. I add it to a lot of different recipes to boost flavors. Love
Hello Frugal Mama. Teresa, stopping by to say hello. Still loving everything that you’re putting out. To see you from day one to where you are now is amazing. Keep it going🌹
Girl, I came across ur channel about a week ago, and all I can say is I love to watch ur videos! I feel like you represent all us real mamas out there! I told my husband we are having all freezer/crockpot meals next week thanks to ur video. Thank you for sharing!
Although I do not eat meat, you are inspiring to me how creatively you put meals togerher in such an easy way.. I also aporeciate It a lot with how much love you act and share not only recipes but also your lovely and amazing personality full of Heart, Compassion, Empathy &Love, even with the rudest comments and people behind it. You definitely saved some of my days during hard times. Thank you and your lovely Family. . Thank you. 🍀🌻😍
I always love when I see a new video from you up! I always watch it as soon as I see it, like it and save it into my recipes I will make playlist for later. ❤ All of the recipes I’ve made for my family so far have always been a big hit. Thanks for all you do Brooke! Have a blessed day Brooke and family ❤
Hi from Australia, i just found your channel and been going through all your videos, thank you for the cheap meal recipes, with the cost of living these days this is so handy.
There is nothing wrong with your sweet children. They look healthy and happy!! You are so blessed to have them and your husband ❣️. I had one question do put the date on the bags and how long can they stay in the freezer?
Hey Brooke this is Sue, just wondering if you keep all the "ick" from your chicken to make chicken broth and soups. l am thinkiing you do, cause it seems like a huge waste if you don't, just wondering cause you never say... Have a Blessed Day and thanks for all the dinner idea's. We are crossing the boarder tomorrow for gas and some groceries, gonna have to pick up that seasoned philly steak for some steak subs,
Can't wait to try these they look delicious meals we've been looking for some food prep ideas. This and that other video you did on freezer cooking will come in very handy. I hope you make more freezer ready meals for the stove top the oven and the Crock-Pot. Maybe even one for the barbecue grill? Thank you for your awesome videos. 💜💜💜
OMG I made that broccoli beef freezer meal and it was so good. I don't think I'll ever go back to the restaurant for broccoli beef and it was so inexpensive to make. Thank you so much
Aldi has a pound of shaved steak usually cheaper than those and better in our opinion. We used to buy the walmart ones all the time but switched and so glad we did. Great video! I love that onion butter seasoning from walmart too
I made 3 from your last video, The John Wayne casserole, the stuffed shells and the crescent rolls and my grandkids loved all of them. I also made your Dutch baby with the orange sugar and oh my goodness!!! It was just delicious ❤❤❤❤
I grabbed the stuff to make the sweet and sour meatballs for dinner. Got the sauce made up in the crockpot then went to grab the meatballs out of the freezer and I was out of the meatballs I could have sworn we’re in there 🤦♀️. I threw some frozen chicken in there instead so we’ll see how sweet and sour chicken goes!
Brooke, I've been bingeing on your videos after recently finding you, sharing your channels & Playlists on telegram and learning so much from you. Thank you!
I really love making freezer meals. Just today I put up a marinated roast. Lemon and pepper chicken. Italian chicken, and a red curry chicken. It saves time and the marinade works into the meat while it's in the freezer and when it's thawing out. I thaw mine so it permeates the meat. Thanks Brooke!
I love these ideas! Quick tip right on you ziploc bags before you fill them, name of meal and instructions. That will make it easier for Dusty or tge boys to toss it in the crock pot for you! Thank you for yet another great video!
Believe me if those boys are hungry they go back for more!!!! They are very healthy! That’s some great crockpot meals! I’ve never bought the Philly Steak before. Okay Ty for the tip I’m going to buy some! That was a lot in that pack!
I love freezer meals! Just a tip though - If you lay out a damp towel (paper towel works too) under your cutting board, it won't slide around so much on you. Makes me nervous when I see cutting boards dancing around.
I made the sweet and sour meatballs last week and loved them. Just put the smoked sausage and potato in the crock pot for tonight. Didn't do them from the freezer, just made them straight into the crockpot
Love this! It's probably the most useful video I have watched and that's saying a lot because you have given me a lot of inspiration 😊 Thank u. I'm probably going to do all of these... amazing
I LOVE your make-ahead freezer meals, & I also have a storage bag stand! But out of curiosity, have you thought about an inexpensive vacuum sealer to store freezer food in? We bought one, & we love it!
Girl, its soccer season and I'm going to make up some of these for those days. ❤❤ I cooked a 9 lb pork butt in rhe crockpot. Made 3 suppers, then batch cooked my Taco Soup and froze 6 gallon bags. 👍 ❤
Yay Brooke fill that freezer up Sweetie!! Just thought of a good idea though. SOS frozen dinners, you know those boys and hubby of yours would love that one. You could do a small meal for your little guy since he didn't like the SOS. Something special he could have while the others have something special too.
I'm new here , only like 2 weeks , but I binge watch , 😂 You are so creative in the kitchen . I'm like that to . But your better . I told my daughter I'm jealous. 😂 you are my favorite. My mother in law was a great southern cook . From Kentucky. I live in Michigan. But omg , she could make a box of Mac n cheese from powder , taste great . I loved her cooking . I learned a few things from that woman . May she RIP . Southern cooking is the best
Thanks so much for the recipes! I've been looking for some new crockpot recipes to make. I made sure to screenshot all the recipes in the description. Also, thank you for taking the time to put the recipes in the description box for us to make it easier for us!
i always cut my chicken breast in strips. i didnt use to but i have found they get more flavor the smaller the pieces are and cook faster also. your food looks yummy i will be trying your recipes for sure.ive used the philly steak for meat on salads,or with brown gravy and onion soup mix over potatoes, ive mixed with velveta shells and cheese like a casarole. that meat is so easy to cook and a fast way to make a great dinner.
Hello frugal mumma could you please do a shop for family hygiene shop like soaps and shampoos etc for your family I'd love to see how you budget shop with you're ideas thanks
These look great!! It’s just me, but I can use less in each meal. Thanks for the great ideas!!! I hope you realize how smart you are!!! Missed your food tasters!!!
I make the chicken and salsa a lot. But i can't put the sour cream in it because my husband doesn't like sour cream. I love it so I just put it on after its done.
This make life so much easier and I use to do this untill Hurricane Opal lefr me without power for over a week and I anyone who could grill was cooking my meals in the neighborhood. Did u know that if you put your ziplock bag with food in cool water itll make it air tight so you can save your food longer
I didn’t!! I’ll try that!
That’s a great tip!! Trying it!
Wow! What a wonderful tip! Thank you!
Yes !! I heard of that but had forgotten about it.. Thanks for reminding me.
That's a great tip. I had no clue. I'm gonna try it
Pro tip, label your bags before filling them, much easier then after. Love ya, Brooke!
I usually do but forgot 😂
@@SouthernFrugalMomma happens to us all, especially with hungry boys running around ❤️
