Big ups and thanks for the tips. Im gonna start doing these in real life soon. Been getting comfy in the sim so maybe it's time. Thanks again brotherman
this was actually one of the best explanations and it was so freaking concise. so many fpv youtubers have to make a 30 min dissertation on what can be a short video. appreciate your work.
Hey man I'm a real fan I'd love to learn from the legend of your doing trick series I'll have some please😊. Thanks have a good one. I'm new as a pilot. Really love freestyle. Ohh and from far. In place called Trinidad in the Caribbean 😂
Honestly wild how that first point helped me get it down. Keeping obstacle in frame til I'm underneath, and only then punching out sealed the deal for me. Thanks man!
Brah this is LockJawFPV your my inspiration I've almost quit when I first started and stuck it out cause it f you . Alot have vannys and bubbys they look up to I look up to you brother at 45 years old and battling colon cancer FPV is what keeps me happy and you keep my drive and passion alive pre shade it brother
Thanks man I'm about to do another! May get you to help me if we fly tomorrow, I could teach you a trick in real life and film it so it's me teaching them through you
Bro, I just subscribed. I love the video, and I really need help developing better freestyle....it's year 2 for me....I fly decent, but I've never really pushed myself! ID LOVE FOR YOU TO DO A TORTORIAL ON THE JUCIEY FLICK. have a good week bro Dizzydeanfpv
Thanks for that. Didn't try throttling around so early, sounds like the secret to them ). Would be cool to see dvr also. Watching what you see could also help learning.
Nice video man! Glad I found your channel. I've been flying for a few years but never really got into a lot of tricks (I seem to smash and lose my quads enough without it lol), but this was a good explanation! Now I'm inspired to get out there start working this out. I love the half Matty approach too @ 5:06 !! Nice video man, thx
@1:58 "also never think about the grind. think about under the obstacle. if you're staying tight to the obstacle you don't even have to worry about the ground."
I cant seem to get trippy spins im spinning but object is always to a side never in the middle😢. Trying in the sim first. Tbh. Saw you guys do it anywere hi low and change directions with it once saw two polls a giy was doing😮8's woth trippy spins. I want to be that bad at it😢.
@@austinspired so what i call my flying in reverse... i yaw 180 and fly through a gap backwards and powerloop back forward and when im upside down i yaw spin and im trying to go back through the gap lol... sorry for bad description but if you get what im saying your a saint
Good video and good tips man but one thing you didn't cover that imo is the biggest factor in doing these types of tricks is your personal camera angle. That alone defines the stick movement needed to perform the same trick vs someone who can see the object in cam frame the entire rotation.
You can hang longer like I described using the same technique at any angle. I actually started doing them at 5 -10 ish degrees and now at 30° I still use the same technique. Angle only matters if you Try doing it with the obstacle in view the whole time. Of course you're settings are gonna vary it a bit but I never even mentioned stick inputs other than throttle. Its all feel.
@@austinspired changing your angle changes the imput required on the quad to perform the same movement vs a different angle so Essentially yes cam angle completely changes what your sticks are doing. Throttle is way more important the lower your cam angle and your also blind on the trick then and just guessing.
It only changes the timing of when you flip over but the stick input change is so minimal it would be like trying to do it to suit everyone's different rates as well. Yours and mine may be different but these techniques work exactly the same either way just slightly different timing but that changes via the obstacle so no real way to do that dead on to where it pleases everyone, but I do the same Matty I do at 5° at 30. This isn't as much a how too as it is showing the technique I use to be consistent because ppl been asking me to do one.
@@austinspired heck yeah brother I'm a pincher and run the TX16S I've been debating on trying out the Zorro of the boxer something a little smaller especially for quick inner city flights when I don't wanna carry big bulky radios bro you get out near Dallas give me a shout be an honor to link up with you
The half matty is called a dolphin dive....good shit tho....thats how i had to learn them....next to a building then floating over stuff and watching it the whole time under throttle
I go between 20 and 30 dependent on the spot. But even at lower angles the same technique applies you just have to flip over a bit sooner with less angle
Well you have to use throttle to go in any direction. You just change your pitch. But yes if you throttle earlier in the flip it will fling you backwards

Keeping a bit on the throttle keeps it smoother too
Solid tutorial. Stopped mid-way to try it on a sim. I got it.

This is the best tutorial I've seen about matties!!! Awesome video man. Definitely going to spend this week practicing this
Thanks bro! Make sure you sub and hit the bell I have new tutorials on the way! Trippy spin and juicy flick are already filmed just gotta edit!
I still need to work on these this was a good lesson
Seriously these two tips if you get them dialed make them almost like powerloops unless it's super tight obstacle
This one's going into a save folder, excellent work; thanks!
That's very satisfying to hear! Thank you!
Honestly wild how that first point helped me get it down. Keeping obstacle in frame til I'm underneath, and only then punching out sealed the deal for me. Thanks man!
No problem man that's why I did it!!!
Wooow 👌🏾 thanks a lot for amazing tutorial. Keep up the good work 💪🏽🙏🏽
You're welcome!
Awesome tutorial brother, saw it from a diff angle now my Marty’s are heaps smoother. More vids like this👍

Thank you brother👊👊
No thank you! Haha.
You're very welcome bro if you have aby other tricks you need a little help with lmk I'll do it too!
I tried it this way, it makes it 100% easier and gives consistent matty flips! 👍
Yes sir! Thanks man!
Matty Master
Good explanation. I wanna see you do more of these. If possible
Good tutorial 👍
Thinking about staying close to the obstacle whether than thinking about the ground is a good approach
I like your approach... its more easy to understand
Thanks man! That's what I was aiming for.

I forgot I saw this already. Can’t wait to fly with you person again lol last time we barely talked.
awesome tips man! thanks 🙏
@@DanFliesDrones you are very welcome. Thank you as well!
Great explanation. Thank you
Super helpful bro, subbed. 👊
Thanks homie! I'm about to do a trippy tutorial, then I'm gonna do one on putting them together into a mattyflip trippyspin
@1:58 "also never think about the grind. think about under the obstacle. if you're staying tight to the obstacle you don't even have to worry about the ground."
Wooow 👌🏾 mad mad flying
Trippy trippy trippy 🎉😂 trippy
I don't know that a trippy is something that can genuinely be put in words. More of something you have to feel. But I'll try
No doubt Hanging on longer is key it just takes time to trust
Very good tips!

By bad I mean goood right 😂
Good tips man like it
I don't get how your flying backwards. Must have a lot of momentum from that inverted whip.
Cool video! I subbed up✌️
Thank you!
Great tutorial, i learn something 👍
I'm like bardwell but cooler! 🤣
@@austinspired I think it's similar 😉
so is the only difference between a matty flip and a dolphin dive is the act of "flipping" over something rather than "diving" a gap?
Good tips!
Very good video my dude
Thanks man!! Lmk what trick yall want next!!
@@austinspired I'm in the process of learning reverse powerloops to yaw spin ... would be interestef to see your take
@K-Money $ FPV $ I could do that but I need a little more help understanding what ya mean lol. So like a Matty with a yaw spin in it?"
@@austinspired so what i call my flying in reverse... i yaw 180 and fly through a gap backwards and powerloop back forward and when im upside down i yaw spin and im trying to go back through the gap lol... sorry for bad description but if you get what im saying your a saint

so you go backwards after you do the matte flip?

And it still doesn't change your stick inputs it just changes what you can see the quads still doing the same general movement regardless.
@@austinspired changing your angle changes the imput required on the quad to perform the same movement vs a different angle so Essentially yes cam angle completely changes what your sticks are doing. How you liking that radio brother?
I am actually flying the boxer now but I loved my zorro too. I switched to pinching and needed more room.

Did you leave your car engine running all the time?
No my car wasn't on at all thats the mill making noises
The half matty is called a dolphin dive....good shit tho....thats how i had to learn them....next to a building then floating over stuff and watching it the whole time under throttle
No it isn't. It's only called a dolphin dive if you go under something first then do a snap back towards it into a Matty.
👍
What’s your uptilt?
I go between 20 and 30 dependent on the spot. But even at lower angles the same technique applies you just have to flip over a bit sooner with less angle
