This is already making waves, lets hope this has a ripple effect on waterproofing quads for the future
One really important thing you guys missed: Both antennas are mounted high up so they're about level with the float because water is really good at blocking RF so if they're under water you may failsafe/lose video.

This quad is perfect for where I live in Oregon. Flying over water is one of my favorite things to do. And I've been doing it without even conformal coating lol. But I trust my builds, and my ability.
For every drone pilot around here, this is just pure amusement. Love the video guys, well done as well on the waterproof build, this is just genius!
This is actually great for someone learning to fly. Just keep the drone over the water and you are good!
Just don't crash and break a prop or get stuck on something in the water

Use Rain-X on all your cam lenses so water doesn't stick to lens while flying.

Spent my summers at Holland State Park. Lived there, my grandparents were the ones who ran the concessions. CRUSE notes were great. Wish I had a quadcopter back then. Thanks for the memorie awaking!

I've never flown a drone and I'm not even slightly interested in buying one. **This is just great content.** I wonder if having a "deployable" float would be more conducive to normal flyers without messing with the aero so much. Like a nano sized compressed air canister with an inflatable bag being lighter weight and less volume than the pool noodle on top.

I've looked at these quads and they look awesome! However I fly in super harsh and extremely windy conditions so I don't know if the waterproofing is up to it... Would a quad like this hold up in salt water with the main components well waterproofed? (I know the motors will get destroyed eventually) I've double layer conformal coated my electronics but I'm still looking for a more robust way to waterproof. Fun video guys!

Just with air mode off you can kind of get it to drive around like a boat it's hilarious.

I have rush tank ultimate vtx which is have a like metal shielding on top of it, so can I coat it bu just flooding it from outside ? or should I open the shield(I dont know if it safe)

i bet the fountain pushed up on the quad enough to freak out the gyro so it throttled up to compensate because it thought it was moving incorrectly?

i remember from last year flying in cold weater, my FPV cam wil fog up and i did not fly futhers. ( it was also in my first months of FPV )
is there a coating that prevent the lens from fogging up?

NURK I need your help. I am looking to buy a DJI drone and I am stuck between the new avata and the mini 2. I choose these 2 because of the difference but also the ease of both. But whichever one I buy willl be my first drone I own. I have flown the mini 2 before but I am not sure which one is right for me.

Instead of the pool noodle, you could use layers of aerogel or aerogel compound, what you put under the frame and on the sides.
Weights nothing and looks and swims better.

Nothing extra needed
if you really want, fill the holes in the shrink wrap where the cables come out, with hot glue.
Should make that ending a short.. Teach the newbies :-)

No idea why esc/fc manufacturers aren't making a waterproof option . Darwin fpv got one . Just need some more reputable manufacturers to jump onboard .
